I am a buprenorphene patient. I have been for many years. I live a very successful life despite serious health problems. I am a biomedical engineer at a major hospital organization with my own office. I am currently looking at having 80% of my colon removed due to colonic inertia. I am on buprenorphene because of a car accident that caused compression fractures in a few vertebrea. I am living with that. I was given reglan for gastroparesis for 18 months and cause severe tardive dyskonesia which turned into akathisia. I am on a low dose of Xanax. I want that upped but most say they don't want the responsibility or it isn't in their direct field of study (including a neurologist). My family dr is fine prescribing it but thinks a specilist needs to increase it. Today i saw a psychiatrist that told me he would not increase the dosage because it might cause me to suddenly die. I can find NO reference material to back this up, and I am EXTREMELY good at researching on the internet. EVERYTHING I find that involve mixing xanax and buprenorphene say it is because of OVERDOSE that it happens. My question is, are there any cases where a patient died suddenly from taking the two as claimed but taking them accurately to the prescription. My second question is, is there some place in Ohio I can go to get my dosage increased as the nervousness drives me nuts at work and annoys my co-workers in other offices due to my tapping or jiggling or generally cant sit still. I am very productive at my job, i just cant sit still and feel restless. I only take xanax currently at night because it is the only way for me to relax enough to settle and go to sleep. I'm very angry because of all the abuse that is out there and I have an actual need or problem or however you want to word it.
