I have been taking this drug for 14 years. I started having the classic reactions to it about a month ago and they keep getting worse. Sometimes I can hardly function. Can I stop this drug? When going a day (24hrs) without dosage I start feeling better right away. Any advice?

Metoprolol succinate ER - I have a bottle of metoprolol ER 25mg tab - discard 12/06/18.

Can this still be used? My husband takes the same in the 50mg tablets but he forgot to order a refill and is taking his last tablet today. I read that many medications retain up to 90% of their potency for up to 35-40 years. Please let me know. Thank you
