Is eating fatty food before OxyContin ER a must as well? If so, I never knew that.

I just came from my pain management doctor, and she switched my two different strengths of morphine to Xtampza ER. She said that this medicine was stronger than morphine (15 mg, and 30 mg daily). I hope what she says is right because my morphine is not working as well as it used to.

From a lot of the reviews it seems important to eat fatty foods to get the full dose.

I just got switched to this medicine this morning, and that is exactly what my doctor said. She said even if it's just a cookie, or a slice of cheese, anything fatty. She said the medicine will not work if you do not eat something fatty right before you take this med, or it won't work.

They are almost the exact same dose oxycontin 40mg is 4mg stronger and you should not notice the difference.

It's Oxycontin vs Oxycodone. Both are are pretty effective in my opinion. You can go off and google equivalency tables. I've taken both at different times for different issues so I can't even provide an opinion.

Oxycontin the is exact same as Xtampza ER (Generic Name:Oxycodone). They are just simply two different brand name extended release versions of Oxycodone.
