I want to know if sertraline affects your memory, I want to be able to recall events so I can work through them with A therapist. I’m hesitant to take it if this medication is gonna block out those memories. Like if I were to get off the medication at any point would I be stuck with those memories because I didn’t work through them and just suppressed them?
How does sertraline affect PTSD?

Hi, Benchboy!
If anything this medication should help clear your mind of the effects of trauma that have been buried all this time.
Do you already have a therapist? Mine is trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) which treats PTSD in a way different than standard talk therapy. Instead of "re-living" the experience(s) you learn how to process and eliminate the thoughts and emotions that occurred during the trauma and that are a major factor in PTSD.
Just a some ideas and suggestions...
Best regards and I hope you're feeling better soon.
