I understand its primary mechanism of action is to prevent ovulation, but I haven't been able to find any information about failure rates other than unintended pregnancies. This isn't a suitable failure criterion for the primary mechanism since there are other proposed secondary mechanisms that could influence the rate of unintended pregnancies.
For this matter, are there results for ovulation rates of other particular combined oral contraceptives published somewhere?
