Is metoprolol tartate used for a-fib or blood pressure or both.?

I got aFib in 2017.I was put on metoprolol tartate 25mg 2x a day. I also take Eliquis 5 mg.2x a day. I was told the metoprolol is to prevent arrhythmias.

Both. It slows the heart rate which helps Afib and reduces blood pressure.
