What are you taking it for? It will take a few doses until it reaches full effect. The thing with metoprolol is its got a wide dosing range, 50 is pretty low. Metoprolol tartrate is short acting so you need to take it like every 6 hrs. Once you find what dose you need there is metoprolol succinate which is long acting and you only have to take two a day.

I take metoprolol before bed time. And losartan/hctz 100/25mg in the morning for bp my numbers are 135-75 and i also like to know are these meds time release
