Is there a difference between generic valium and the real valium?

If the real valium isn't better than the generic, how come the real one costs $180 with your plan and the generic costs $4 with your plan?

The generic gives me headache and nausea and ruins my sleep, but none of the benefits of real valium. I am a value shopper, but I must pay outrageous prices for the original, cause the generic is poison to me. There should be a rule that the generic should be identical in every way.
It makes no sense to require that only one ingredient in the generic be the same as the original when so many folks have had problems with them. The pharmacies won't take them back, so we're just throwing money away and we still have to buy the original. Sick people cannot afford this, and it resembles a scam.
Oxyaaron is right in that they both contain the same active ingredient. But my family doc always insisted on the brand name valium and not the generic. I did notice a little difference. The generic version seems to cause a headache for me the next morning.
Good luck and best wishes,
chris
Hi "Sis"! I aggree with you totally... also, I aggree with the "above addition"! All the generics i've tried are not only a bit different, but they are weaker!! "Brother Bill"!
I agree brother. I think it has something to do with the "other" ingredients in generic brands. Why do people pay so much more for name brand? Because they work better! Too bad it's we the people who get the raw end of the deal. It's such a racket, Big Pharma.
no they both contain diazepam
