Mucinex D tablets are extended release so they should work well over 12 hours. They may not be as effective if you take 1 tablet every 6 hours, but I guess there is no harm in taking it this way. Just do not exceed 4 tablets in 24 hours.

It is my understanding that Tylenol can damage your liver if taken in high dosages. Can Mucinex DM have the same consequences?

... took another 1200 mg forgeting that it is a 24 hr pill and you are not suppose to take for than 1200 mg a day. Will I be okay?
