I am thinking the vicodin is adding to your depression- after the up and he pain relief comes the down. Most opioids are depressants. Do you have a pain management doctor or a caring doctor who could perhaps change you to a better pain medication? Did the celexa ever work? The problem for people in chronic pain is that pain is depressing- it is almost too much to expect a medication to make up for that. However you can certainly look for a mix that works best for you.
Thank you for being kind enough to take the time to reply to me.My DEP. has been going on for 10 years now. My back since 1991.I tried to kill my self recently,& they put me in a phyk ward.I think I want to just not be hear anymore & i'm really afraid I just might get away with it.I stay mostly in my basement away & safe.I just want to get better, but I can't find the meds that will work.
Oh goodness I am glad you reached out here- please don't trust these feelings- they have got to be confused by all the medication you are taking- believe me I know how you feel- I have lived with pain for so long and get so SICK of it- I too have been to the end of my rope at times, thinking about leaving the planet to be out of pain and to not be such a drain on my family- but then reason prevails and I know that the DEPRESSANTS I am on are doing just that- depressing me!. Depression already runs in my family so it is easy for me to tip the scales to the dark side. And it is a slippery slope because when you are depressed you are not rational and not able to see your way out enough to understand the simple chemistry of it.
Please talk to your doctor about fine tuning your medication, and don;'t give up! New things are being discovered all the time to help us all with these painful issues, bot of the body and the mind, and I pla to hold out until they are found so I can dance again.
Your kindness & CARING really touched my heart IMMENSELY. Thank-you again for caring. I went from being outgoing & being the PARTY to staying in my basement 24-7.The darkness that surrounds me & consumes me is just
too overwhelming. I came here to see if I'm CRAZY & would I be better off DEAD. SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL OR BETTER YET HELP!!!
I myself take lexapro which is basically the same as celexa - thats why I have not suggested anything. But you really need a good therapist to not only counsel you but see what this mixtuere of drugs is doing. For one thing, you probably would benefit from a long acting opioid instead of vicodin, which is probably contributing to your depression with its short acting highs and lows.
