I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism (Hashimoto's disease) when I was about 18 or 19 years old. I started having irregular periods constantly along with other symptoms even after being on levothyroxine or Synthroid (25mg-50mg). FastForward to now, I decided to stop the medication and get some lab work done to see how my levels would contrast to when I was on the medication. Turns out the endocrinologist told me my levels were normal, I waited over a month to get tested. I was told not take the medication anymore. I stopped and my period was going back to normal until as of recently. I still have irregular periods, loss of hair, hair thinning, and insomnia. I don't have PCOS, I got soooo many tests done to prove I did but everything came back normal. Even my hormones. I have gone to several doctors but they all dismiss me and tell me to take birth control. That's a whole other story. Any thoughts?
Is it hypothyroidism or is it something else entirely?
