Getting a second opinion at Kaiser requires a referral. Once the referral is made, all the opinions of the first Dr. and all of the patients testing -etc. - immediately go to the second opinion Dr. who reads them and in most if not all cases there's now a bias in favor of the first Dr. and against the patient. Is it possible (administratively?) to get a referral and not have the 'second opinion' Dr. be able to access any patient records prior to the visit?
How do I deal with Kaiser's builtin 'second opinion' bias?
