Has anyone with ulcerative colitis used the Voltaren gel and is there any informaation on this?

There is definitely the potential for the active ingredient of Voltaren gel to reach the systemic circulation and irritate the gastric mucosa.
Voltaren gel should be used with caution in patients with ulcerative colitis and under medical supervision.
Check with your doctor before using Voltaren gel.

i have ulcerative colitis , i have had it since 2004 , my doctor put me on Voltaren Gel 1% a few days ago. He seemed to think there would be no problem but he isn't my gastro doctor. i'm not using it until i talk to my gastro doctor after the holidays
