I found myself urinating at least a dozen times a day. At the same time (although I'm sure they weren't related) I was beginning to suffer the onset of one of my clinical depressive episodes. Finally, depression was so bad I checked into a psychiatric hospital. I told them about the frequent urination and they got a urine and blood sample from me. They came back and said only thing on those test that was out of "normal" range was CK. They immediately put me on IV fluids while treating my depression(this episode of depression responded rapidly to depressive medication) and I continued the fluids for two days using four bags. My frequent urination stopped. But I couldn't initially get an answer as to why I had an elevated CK and what harm it could do... finally someone told me it was likely due to my leg movements. I have tardive dyskinesia which causes constant movements of my mouth and legs (had mouth movement for years. Only in last couple of years have legs also started moving) Also I have "nervous" legs. Anyone who is feeling some anxiety can get this. Its sort of a tapping motion of your leg. Its not uncommon and by itself is not harmful.

Does this sound like the most likely cause of my elevated CK, given the problem I have? And if so, how does this skeleton+muscle problem increase my CK and what harm could it do if the CK is not returned to a normal level. Also, do you think my regular physician would have made this same diagnosis; and if so, how would he had treated it. I am assuming he would not have put me in the hospital to give me fluids.

I would really appreciate a response because this has got me very confused.

Thanks
Rick
