I had a custody hearing and my daughters father is on suboxone, they did 16 pannel drug test suboxone was on the test but opites also came up did he use an opite?

Yes he did. A 16 panel test is much more specific then a 5-7 panel that most doctors have in their offices.
Buprenorphine is a partial agonist opiate and on a 5 panel test does not show up. You have to specifically test for it, the same with methadone and other synthetic opiates/opioids.
So he has been taking suboxone and trying to take a opiate which is a total waste of his time and money since the buprenorphine molecule will totally block opiates no matter how much you take. You can still overdose though which can happen when the addict can't get high and they take more and more say heroin. Eventually their respiratory system shuts done(usually when you're asleep) and they don't wake up. So you have to break the addictive behavior and lifestyles once you get stabilized on the suboxone. If he is just starting out on the suboxone then you have to cut him some slack as the power of the addictive lifestyle is not yet under control and you will abuse without even thinking about it... Good luck... Dave
