Do you guys take Wellbutrin SR/XL on an empty stomach?

Hello,

I take the XL version and it can be taken with or without food, I take mine in the mornings without food and feel just fine.

Hello hope31. When I was taking wellbutrin, as most meds that I've been on, generally, as soon as I've risen for the day, glass of water and pill time. Aside from my "night" medication, its always been the med. and water. Best to you.

Hey hope,

Just to give you the technical answer to your question about food and its effect on Wellbutrin (bupropion), I share the following from the literature

"Following oral administration of Wellbutrin XL Tablets to healthy volunteers, time to peak plasma concentrations for bupropion was approximately 5 hours and food did not affect the Cmax or AUC of bupropion."

So bottom line, food doesn't affect the absorption of Wellbutrin. I take mine with a big ole spoonful of oatmeal. Yummy and it works great. lol
