Hello- I'm a 60 year old female and have been on meds for depression for many years. I'm now on Sertraline and Bupropion. I have an autoimmune disease which sometimes causes extreme nausea. I was in the ER for the nausea and was given Ativan when Zofran, Phenergan had no effect. The Ativan was fantastic and good the nausea away. This weekend, I suddenly started feeling weak and jittery and nauseous. I didn't eat or drink Sat or Sun. Still felt that way Monday but went to work anyway and ended up fainting at my desk. Luckily for me, I work in a hospital so I was rushed to the ER. I was treated for dehydration and the nausea went away but then I began to have chest pain. I thought I was having a heart attack but turned out it was anxiety. I was given Ativan IV and the anxiety was gone and they gave me a prescription for Ativan. Unfortunately it's 2 days later and I'm still having the anxiety. I need to go back to work tomorrow and wonder if anyone has found a dose that calms the anxiety but will allow me to function. I have 1's but they knock me out. I think I'd rather have depression than this scary stuff! Also wondered if anyone has ideas for self-help that works when you feel it coming. Thank you.
