Pam; yes that is what it is for and it's great that you can get by with less than what the doctor has prescribed, with medication like this the less you can get by with the better. so you are doing fine but remember to use it when you need it. remember never mix anything or alcohol with this. Thank you for answering! Yes, luckly 0.25mg calms me, but I've been taking one per day for the past 3 weeks because I have finals and i get extreme anxiety! I was worried because I barely even take Advil and i thought that 0.50mg 3 times a day was way too much! Thanks again and have a nice day!

Pam, you are very welcome and the way you look at the medications I don't think you well ever have a problem and taking 1 or 2 of the .25 alprazolam is safe. for some time. I would not worry about it at all.
And if at that dose you do want to stop. It well be much easier to get off of it when the time comes. don't beat yourself up over this small amount. you are doing fine.
