Hi nanc,
When I want a pain relief I find that if I take one Tylenol and one Advil it works pretty good. Might be good for you for awhile. I usually use it for migraines.

Regularly taking both tylenol and advil together can have adverse effects. I'd discuss this with a doctor if doing it frequently.

Generally you should not take Advil for longer than 10 days unless under doctors supervision.
If you have to take Advil for a period of time you are at risk of developing side effects including:
Stomach problems like bleeding, ulcer and stomach upset
High blood pressure
Fluid retention (causing swelling, such as around the lower legs, feet, ankles and hands)
Kidney problems
Heart problems
Rashes
You doctor will be able to modify treatment if you start developing signs of these side effects.
