What is Ingrezza used for?

Ingrezza (valbenazine) is an oral prescription medicine with two approved uses:

  • to treat adults with movements in the face, tongue, or other body parts that cannot be controlled (a medical condition known as tardive dyskinesia)
  • to treat adults with chorea associated with Huntington’s disease. Huntington's chorea is a condition in the brain where nerve cells break down and results in involuntary, random and continuous movement (muscle jerks or tics) while someone is awake. Movements often occur on the face, hands and feet.

Ingrezza works by blocking certain chemicals in your body that may be involved with involuntary muscle movement.

Ingrezza Sprinkle offers the same dosage strengths as the original Ingrezza. The contents of the capsules can be easily sprinkled on soft food for oral administration (do not use milk or drinking water). This may be easier for patients easier for patients who have difficulty swallowing or prefer not to take a capsule. Do not crush or chew.

Ingrezza is available in 40 mg, 60 mg, and 80 mg oral capsules and Ingrezza Sprinkle is available in 40 mg, 60 mg, and 80 mg oral granules in capsules.
