Repatha (evolocumab) "I have been on repatha 2 months before adding pralulent. With both meds my nose gets terrible sores inside and makes my nose so sore I cannot touch it . Sometimes my nose will throb like a toothache . I have stopped and this problem goes away . When I start back maybe 4 or 5 days later the sores come back ."

Repatha (evolocumab) "Took one injection and LDL did go down to 50. However, had constant cold symptoms, bad sore throat, couldn't sleep and just felt miserable. Back to taking red yeast rice and bergamot where I can get my LDL under 80. Not great for someone with stents but really don't have any other really good alternatives."

Repatha (evolocumab) "I only had a score of 36 on my calcium heart scan....really low, I was happy about it...but, the cardiologists office called me like I was going to have a heart attack immediately. Kept pushing me to take this Repatha. I was really hesitant to try it as I had tried a statin drug years ago and that was really hard on my body me - I literally collapsed on that drug. It was as if my muscles had melted off of my leg bones. Well three months into Repatha, I'm having severe hip pain, and I'm stopping Repatha immediately. I hope to God it goes away as it is an awful, nagging pain without causation. I also experienced a frightening episode of shortness of breath for absolutely no reason. I almost went to the ER because I just couldn't breathe. It passed in a few minutes, but what is this drug? Anyway, I would NOT recommend this...NO WAY. It just isn't worth it in my opinion."

Repatha (evolocumab) "For the first two months, I had virtually no side effects. Then, I started having lower back pain, mild. When the Repatha reached its maximum dosage, cumulative half-life of drugs plus regular injections at three months, I started having more severe back pain down into my legs and knees. I ended up stopping because I couldn't even pick up my 10-pound cat off the floor due to muscle weakness. The drug itself lowered my cholesterol from 201 to 85, which was amazing."

Repatha (evolocumab) "I’ve been taking Repatha on the advice of my doctor. Tried a few different statins , Lipitor , Crestor , and been having a difficult time with them . Maybe that’s what leads us to a drug that can be so harmful? Not to mention my cardiac history , I guess I have to feel that I would definitely give it my best try . I don’t know yet if it has worked wonders for my cholesterol because my blood work is not in yet , but I can only guess most likely it has lowered mine like the rest of yours. After 4 injections I’m noticing quite a few side effects . Finger & toe pain. Arm and shoulder pain with neck pain running up the back to my head. I have plates in the back of my neck which are being aggravated . Dizziness a feeling of extreme forgetfulness . Describing it to my husband ( fogginess) . Lack of urination , dangerous for a heart patient & constipation . Extreme night sweats ! Weight gain ."

Repatha (evolocumab) "I am allergic to statins. After a heart attack, I was prescribed Repatha. Within 3 weeks, I started having muscle pain in both upper arms. It was similar to the pain I had in my thighs when taking Lipitor and then Crestor. I stayed on it for 3 months. I wrote to my doctor and told him I was going off of it. For some reason, doctors don't want to believe it causes the above symptoms. Repatha dramatically reduced my cholesterol numbers. I was very sorry I had to go off of it."

Repatha (evolocumab) "I have been taking the Repatha injections for 3 years. I had to have 5 bypasses two years ago. Just had a heart cath and now have 5 100% blockages. I don’t think it’s helping my arteries at all. Bad Cholesterol is 51 and my total cholesterol is 108. Very disappointing results!!!!"

Repatha (evolocumab) "I've been taking the Repatha injection every other week for a year now along with lipitor 80mg. My doctor prescribed me the highest dose of a statin x2 and my levels would not drop to my bodies desired level to dodge another cardiac episode. Overall Repatha has helped me get my labs under control and the only complaint is the injection stings a little. ( No side effects for me)"

My leg got better but would flare up every time I use Repatha and the struggle to walk for at least four days The last 8 months I have been on Repatha 140 every third week I now have piriformis with severe Bursitis in my buttock causing lots of pain from the hip down the back leg and really struggling to walk I think Statins and Repatha do more harm then good"

Repatha (evolocumab) "After injecting Repatha twice per week for 6 months, and even after stopping the injections for two years now, I am still have terrible side effects. At age 62, I was very athletic and active until I started taking Repatha. I ended up in the ER several times, got every test possible trying to find out why I was so sick. It was the injections. This is the worst drug ever. Now at 64 I am still struggling."

Repatha (evolocumab) "Dec 15 had my first and only Repatha injection in Doctor office with 4 samples to take home while getting drug plan approval. After a day and half got terribly dizzy and afraid to walk. Took ginger capsules with some relief but occasional dizzy feelings- though much less- persist 51/2 weeks later. The next day horrible cramps and diarrhea. Unable to sleep at night and Imodium not fully effective. My belly still acts up out of the blue. Occasional surprise random symptoms like terrible post nasal drip with thick, choking phlegm. Hip muscles hurt at night and interfere with sleep though I have no hip arthritis on x-ray. Occasional sore throat and flu ish feelings come and go. Eyes are dry and blurry. Not taking another dose; I gave my samples to someone who can take it. Retired medical professional."

Repatha (evolocumab) "I was prescribed Repatha for high cholesterol and cardiovascular risk reduction. I tried many statins and Zetia, which all caused muscle and joint pain, along with severe abdominal pain. I was prescribed Repatha a month ago. After the first injection, I felt a little sick about 3 days later. I attributed this to the bugs going around. After the second injection, I became severely sick, foggy-headed, weak, and developed muscle and joint pain, I couldn't even use my right arm due to shoulder pain. I have stopped taking Repatha, but from what I read, it will take several weeks to get out of my body."

Repatha (evolocumab) "Heart attack, stent placement in 2015. Placed on max dose of statins afterward to keep the stent open. Could not get my LDL below 90-100 no matter what, the standard for stent patients is under 70. Doc put me on Repatha a little over a year ago. Within a few weeks, LDL dropped to 30! No side effects. Auto inject is easy. Recently, doc added 5mg of a statin which is shown to drop it even more."

Repatha (evolocumab) "I was put on Repatha January 2021 for a 50 percent blockage of main coronary artery. My health went downhill from there. Chronic fatigue, body aches and pains all over, migraines, extreme depression worse than ever, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, blurred vision. It does bring lipids way down but the side effects are just unbearable and I told Dr. but he still pushed me to take it. Finally I said enough! I stopped and started to feel some life back that it took from me."

Repatha (evolocumab) "It has lowered my LDL to 24, but I have great back pain and my legs are feeling weaker like when I was on statins. I'm tired. I can't decide if the medicine is making things worse. I've been on it almost a year, and have switched to auto-injectors because of the bruising I was causing myself. I use it 2 times a month. On one hand, I think the med works very well. If it's the med that is causing the back pain and leg muscle weakness, then I will opt for quality of life instead of length of life."

Repatha (evolocumab) "I have just started taking Rapatha because Lipitor causes joint pain for me. I have now had my second dose. I will get my Lipids checked in 2 weeks and then take 2 more doses of Repatha and then check my Lipids again after 2 months. As long as my Lipids stay very good then I will continue with Repatha. I have had no side effects from the drug. It's not as easy to take as Ozempic but it's okay. I just inject the medication into my leg. I would rather inject in the side of my stomach like Ozempic but it will not fire because the surface is not firm enough."

Repatha (evolocumab) "I cannot tolerate statins, and unfortunately, I have also found this to be true for Repatha. I took Repatha for two months, and during that time, I ended up barely able to move my legs. The negative symptoms started around six weeks into the treatment. I have stopped taking the drug for about two weeks now, but I still experience residual effects. While my legs feel fine when I'm sitting, they quickly become sore when I start to move. At times, I also feel a little dizzy when I stand up, and my balance and movement are not as good as they were before I took the drug."

Repatha (evolocumab) "After the 2nd shot, I had diarrhea for 4 days, weight loss of 8 lbs (I was previously at normal weight and body mass: BMI 22.4) which I have not regained, and fatigue. I had been unable to take the statins, due to generalized body aches and Crestor produced acute pseudo gout, which took 3 weeks to go away. The shots were the 140mg size in the self-administered SureClick, given every 2 weeks, which was easy to do. My PCP advised to stop it."

Repatha (evolocumab) "45 male. I was taking atorvastatin for my cholesterol and I currently am predisposed to have high lipoprotein a. Atorvastatin worked really well. Brought down my LDL and lowered my triglycerides, including a small increase in my HDL. Overall, I was really happy with my statin and didn't have any side effects after persisting on it for a few months, but I did have a little bit of foggy brain issues initially. Unfortunately, the statin increased my LPA, but my doctor was responsive to my idea of getting on Repatha in order to lower my LPA. I've been on Repatha now for 6 months. I haven't had any side effects and I'm also on half as much atorvastatin. Basically, it's 20 mg a day plus my twice-a-month injection of Repatha. Anyways, long story short, it all seems to be working great. Repatha has worked well to lower my LPA and get all my other biomarkers in line. I have to say I feel really good. I work under the barbell doing squats and presses, regular cardio, and everything is looking good."

"Because of too little effect of 3 different statins, cardiologist referred me to take up Repatha, (very good service surrounding application by the way). I was not really aware of problems it seemed fine after first 2 injections, however, I started Repatha just before a 4 week break from work. Slept a lot these weeks, walked more. The pain in legs I thought was caused by hikes, and drowsiness because of really relaxing. Upon return home and after my 3rd injection now, things seem to get worse: have problems concentrating, listlessness, urge to sleep 2-3 times during the day, stiffness and blurry sight that comes and goes. I also suffer from asthma, since my second injection I have greatly increased cough, inflammation. Just found this site and many of the symptoms reported here I recognized. Being an academic with access to current medical literature, I looked for recent research. New independent reviews and medical publications give rise to be suspicious about the the use of PCSK9 inhibitors."
