Sodium Sulfamethazine

667 mg

Sodium Sulfathiazole

333 mg

Powder 21 Indications

Cattle: For the treatment of bacterial infections (pneumonia, metritis, enteritis, foot rot, or septicemia accompanying acute mastitis) and as an aid in the treatment of shipping fever complex.

Swine: For the treatment of enteritis and respiratory diseases caused by bacteria susceptible to sulfamethazine and sulfathiazole.

Directions For Use

To reduce the development of antimicrobial resistance and maintain effectiveness, use this antibiotic prudently.

Pre-mix 1 package in 11 L of water. Add to each 400 L of drinking water the first day, and to each 500 L on the second and subsequent days.

For use as a drench, give 60 mL of a 12.5% solution or 30 mL of a 25% solution per 34 kg bodyweight. Reduce the dose to 1/2 on the second, third, and fourth days.

To make a 12.5% solution, dissolve 1 package in 4.5 L water; to make a 25% solution, dissolve 2 packages in 4.5 L water.

If improvement is not seen in 48 hours, discontinue use and reassess the diagnosis.

Warnings

Milk taken from treated animals within 96 hours after the latest treatment with the drug must not be used in food.

Treated animals must not be slaughtered for use in food for at least 10 days after the latest treatment with this drug.

Sulfonamides can cause allergic reactions in sensitized individuals. When handling the product, avoid inhalation, oral exposure and direct contact with skin or eyes.

Keep out of reach of children.

Storage

Store at room temperature (15-30°C).
