Usual Adult Dose for Constipation
wheat dextrin 1 g oral tablet:
3 tablets (3 g) orally up to 3 times daily not to exceed 9 tablets per day.
wheat dextrin 1 g oral tablet, chewable:
3 tablets (3 g) orally up to 3 times daily not to exceed 9 tablets per day.
wheat dextrin oral powder:
2 teaspoonfuls (3.5 g) orally up to 3 times daily not to exceed 6 teaspoonfuls (10.5 g) per day. Stir into 4 to 8 ounces of any beverage or soft food- hot or cold.
Usual Pediatric Dose for Constipation
wheat dextrin 1 g oral tablet, chewable:
6 to 11 years: 1.5 tablets (1.5 g) orally up to 3 times daily not to exceed 4.5 tablets per day.
12 years or older: 3 tablets (3 g) orally up to 3 times daily not to exceed 9 tablets per day.
wheat dextrin oral powder:
6 to 11 years: 1 teaspoonful (1.75 g) orally up to 3 times daily not to exceed 3 teaspoonfuls (5.25 g) per day. Stir into 4 to 8 ounces of any beverage or soft food- hot or cold.
12 years or older: 2 teaspoonfuls (3.5 g) orally up to 3 times daily not to exceed 6 teaspoonfuls (10.5 g) per day. Stir into 4 to 8 ounces of any beverage or soft food- hot or cold.
