Usual Adult Dose for Urinary Alkalinization
1 to 4 tablets orally after meals and at bedtime with a full glass of water. The dosage should be based on frequent urinary pH measurements.
Renal Dose Adjustments
Should be used with caution in patients with low urinary output.
Precautions
Use caution if taken with other products containing aluminum.
Should be used with caution in patients with low urinary output, cardiac failure, hypertension, peripheral and pulmonary edema and toxemia of pregnancy.
Periodic evaluations of serum electrolytes, particularly sodium bicarbonate levels, should be carried out in those patients with renal disease in order to avoid complications.
