I had a yeast infection 5 years ago and I got the same symptoms, my discharge was creme colored and not chunky so I did a monistat 1 day. The next day my discharge is still itchy my labia was swollen and my discharge is white and chunky. When I treated myself before I did not have these issues, it went away basically the next day. Should I take the monistat 1 again?

Please do not advise a woman Not to go to the ER. My yeast infection did not clear. I used Monistat 7. I went to Urgent Care got an antibiotic. I called the Doctors Office all week has symptoms worsened, no Nurse called back. Thursday night my daughter came home, gave two young babies to her husband and took me to ER. It turned septic. I told the ER doctor I was going to wait to the following day to come in, while the Grandbabies napped. The ER Doc said if I waited I would have died. I had an IV line attached for weeks, hospitalized, and sent home with an IV attached to administer antibiotics. Be careful with bladder and yeast infections ladies, our lives are more fragile than we know. Error on the side of caution.

I’d say stick with monistat 7 and not the 1. I know my symptoms got worse overnight when I used the 1. As soon as I used the 7 it started to clear up.

Any vaginal infection can lead to PID which is life threatening. So your over reaction could lead to the death of some young girl who comes here for answers because she doesn't want to tell her parents.

Really! For Christs sake! Dont go to the ER, A yeast infection is NOT an emergency! It is people like that who clog up the ER and make everyone have to wait longer! Save the ER for true emergencies. Now if you want to go to Urgent Care, yes, but not the ER!!! Now to answer your question, Monistat 1 can take up to seven days to work fully. Wait for seven days, if your symptoms are not cleared up then it is probably NOT a yeast infection and you need to see your gynecologist (or go to Urgent Care if you like) for a diagnosis and treatment.

You can try repeating the treatment after seven days if your symptoms are better but not gone but if you read the Monistat 1 directions, it will tell you that it CAN take up to seven days to fully work. The medicine is still inside you working its magic for up to seven days!

If someone wants to go to the ER that's their choice you should not tell someone don't take up space at the ER because their issue is not an emergency that's a load of crap the hospital is for everyone REGUARDLESS of how minor their issues are

Don't tell someone what's not an emergency! First, getting an appointment with the Gynecologist is not easy. I've had a yeast infection and was told the soonest available appointment available was 3 weeks! 3 freaking weeks! Even ask to be put on standby in case there was a cancellation. Yeast infections are very uncomfortable and each woman handles this differently. If going to the ER or an Urgent care is the quickest and most convenient option to get help immediately and not have to wait more than 2-3 days (still a long time) for an appointment with a Gynecologist then so be it.

You are extremely rude and immature. Your comment is horrific! You could have answered that in a different manner. Start by saying making appointment with OBGYN tomorrow morning would be a better choice. Although it could be something more and not a yeast infection. You do not know. There for I think you should be a little more considerate with your answers.

Don't tell people what is and isn't an emergency. If you are pregnant, a yeast infection could cause permanent damage to your baby.. If you have a yeast infection for too long, it could cause pelvic inflammatory disease which could tamper with your ability to have children.. Take care of it asap even if that means going to the ER. Itching and burning and discomfort and not seeing results after using medication all sound like emergencies to me...

I totally agree..we can't tell anyone that what they're going through isn't an emergency. The lady is obviously concerned about what's going on with her body..it can be scary especially if you've tried to treat it and the symptoms get worse. Sounds like an emergency to me.

You don't go to the er for a yeast infection. This is NOT an emergency. If the symptoms are continuing you can do it over but if it doesn't go away see your dr. It could be something other then yeast.
