... disease what is good for these symptoms? I don't take anything except for tums and I eat them like candy when I have a flare up.
I have IBS, acid reflux, hiatus hernia and diverticulitis. I think now I've got Crohn's?

I have all of those problems also. I take Nexium daily for the reflux and it is fabulous. When the IBS/Divertuculitis flares up, take Gas-X and Enteric Coated Peppermint oil, it will give you great relief. Take Probiotics everyday of your life, eat yogurt and sauerkraut etc... they have probiotics also. Take metamucil daily and drink tons of water. This combination of things have completely changed my life. Good luck

I too have very bad heartburn, acid reflux, and GERD. Instead of having sudden flare-ups, i suggest you ask your doctor about a maintenance drug called a proton pump inhibitor such as: protonix, nexium, aciphex, etc... I am on Protonix DR 40mg and i take it at night--as you should know acid gets worse when you lay flat--and I haven't had a problem with my GERD at all. What are your symptoms of YOUR IBS? chronic constipation and diarrhea? is one or the other more prevalent?

i was taking nexium, then i was put on aciphex and then i couldnt get to see my dr for a new refill of the med and she wouldnt call it in for me so i dont see a dr anymore as im sick of seeing his PA and not him, unless i need to have a endoscopy done which i am due 4 one soon. my gerd doesnt bother me too much only if i eat something im not suppose to like vegies or anything with choc or eggs. i sleep with 3 pillows.. my IBS well its not to bad thats why i think i may now have crohns as im in the bathroom at least 6or7 times a day and my stools are soft. ive read up on crohns and ive got some of the syptoms(spelling sorry) but theres so many. im just sick of drs telling me to take the med when all it does is make me feel worse.

I understand the fast turnover of medication is not a happy thing in anyones' lives. However, I would find a dr. that will work with you. Lotronex is a great medicine when you're struggling with the side of IBS that makes you stay in the bathroom all the time. I would also suggest getting back on your nexium or aciphex... if not, just try over the counter prevacid. You need to get a colonoscopy to check for crohns too. take care of yourself.

My PC acted up the other day. GERD makes IBS worse, as the acid from GERD goes through the GI and further upsets the IBS, etc. Do you use diet-avoid spices, raw veges, alcohol, soda pop, chocolate, and don't snack for an hour or so before bedtime? That helps GERD. I take a prescription GERD medicine-do you get burning in your throat when you take Tums? That's a sign that Tums aren't strong enough and your hiatus hernia is really bad. When you get your GERD under control, you'll probably find out that you can eat some of the food. I like Zantac, and it's over the counter. It doesn't burn the throat like Tums do, but it takes about an hour for it to work. Some of the other meds didn't help me at all- You can friend me anytime that you want and talk about it more if you want.-Signed- GERD, IBS, etc. except for Crohns. Yes, the acid from GERD can add aditional symptoms that are like Crohns.

what are multi-probs... ive had more flare ups than i can count, my dr says to watch what i eat and gave a list of what i should avoid, everything on that list makes me think my dr is full of it, i was told to eat 6small meals a day, with more fiber, what is true and not?
