Anthralin has been shown to cause tumors in animals. However, there have been no reports of anthralin causing tumors in humans.
Along with its needed effects, anthralin topical (the active ingredient contained in Psoriatec) may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.
Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur while taking anthralin topical:
More common- Redness or other skin irritation of treated or uninvolved skin not present before use of this medicine
- Skin rash
