Tesamorelin Pregnancy Warnings
If pregnancy occurs, discontinue tesamorelin therapy. If this drug is used during pregnancy, or if the patient becomes pregnant while taking this drug, the patient should be apprised of the potential hazard to the fetus.
Tesamorelin has been assigned to pregnancy category X by the FDA. Animal studies have revealed evidence of increased fetal toxicity. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Tesamorelin is contraindicated in pregnant women.
Tesamorelin Breastfeeding Warnings
There are no data on the excretion of tesamorelin into human milk. HIV infected mothers should not feed human milk to avoid potential postnatal transmission of HIV.
