You can use Cequa (cyclosporine ophthalmic solution) for as long as your health care provider recommends. Cequa often does not begin to work until after 4 to 6 months of consistent use, but patients with milder disease may have some relief after a month of use. Since dry eye is a chronic condition, patients may use Cequa indefinitely.

You should not stop using Cequa without consulting your health care provider, even if your symptoms have gone away. Most patients can expect a relapse of symptoms after discontinuing treatment with cyclosporine eye drops such as Cequa. Cyclosporine eye drops are usually meant to be used for a minimum of about 6 months, and long-term use is common.

Cequa is a 0.09% solution of cyclosporine and helps you to produce more natural tears.
