Hydrochlorothiazide / Timolol Dosage
Applies to the following strengths: 25 mg-10 mg

Usual Adult Dose for Hypertension
Initial and maintenance dose: 1 tablet orally twice a day or 2 tablets orally once a day.
Renal Dose Adjustments
Hydrochlorothiazide is generally not effective in patients with creatine clearance less than 25 mL/min.
Liver Dose Adjustments
Hydrochlorothiazide-timolol should be used with caution in patients with hepatic impairment.
Dose Adjustments
Patients usually do not require doses in excess of 50 mg of hydrochlorothiazide daily when combined with other antihypertensive agents.
Dialysis
Timolol is not significantly dialyzed. Limited data from 2 patients undergoing hemodialysis using a Travenol UF II standard coil dialyzer reveal no significant difference between the arterial and venous plasma concentrations during dialysis.
Other Comments
If the antihypertensive response is not satisfactory, another nondiuretic antihypertensive agent may be added.
