Medications for Dyspnea

Other names: Dyspnoea; Shortness of Breath

Dyspnea is characterized by shortness of breath, difficulty in breathing or breathlessness. Dyspnea can be caused by anxiety, asthma, cardiac ischemia, congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, interstitial lung disease, panic disorder or pneumonia. The underlying cause of the dyspnea determines the severity, whether it is acute or chronic, and also determines the treatment.
