Medications for Cholelithiasis w/ Acute Cholecystitis and Obstruction

Cholelithiasis is the presence of gallstones in the gallbladder. Gallstones are hard, pebble-like deposits that can vary in size from a grain of sand to a golf ball. Gallstones may cause no signs or symptoms but your gallbladder can become inflammed if the gallstones block the tube leading out of your gallbladder. This is called cholecystitis and it also causes bile to be trapped in the gall bladder. The main symptoms are severe abdominal pain, sweating, nausea, fever and bloating particularly after a big meal. Cholecystitis is usually treated by surgical removal of the gall bladder .
