For Pain "I’ve been on hydrocodone 10/325 for over 20 yrs for scoliosis. The name brand worked very well but then became obsolete, in my area anyway. I then got generic brands which always worked just as well up until 2020. I started taking notes of the manufacturers of the generics and found that the one made by Lupin didn’t work nearly as well but had no side effects. The one made by Malenkroft worked better with no side effects and the one made by Tris pharmaceuticals doesn’t work at all and gives me splitting migraines. The quality of generics is not as good as they once were."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "After many years of feeling drugged and still in pain, Zohydro ER has saved my life. I spent 11 hours on the operating table. I was in pain 24/7 even with other pain meds or I felt drugged. With Zohydro you don’t know that you have a drug in your system. JUST NO PAIN! Now I’ve come to understand that the company just recently took them off the market. WHY?"

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "No help at all. No relief. Became very depressed. My muscles hurt badly. I was switched from 7.5 hydrocodone, which by the way took the edge off the pain, to hysingla 30mg. I noticed right away that there was a lot of break through pain."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "Just started hysingla er 30mg but with norco 10\325. The pain Dr and I have been trying several IR and ER pain relief medicines. I have chronic pain after back surgery l5-l3, plus fibro and arthritis. So I hurt from head to toe literally. I won't give up norco until I know new meds work. That's our agreement. I have had only 3 days on hysingla. I tried mornings but it kept me up that nite so switched to 9pm I think it peaks about 10-12hrs in. I sleep ok. I need to be able move normal again during day! I really can't tell I'm taking it as I'm still taking norco every 4 hrs. They're not great either but least it works somewhat on back pain. I noticed on the 2nd day I'm starting to itch. If it doesn't let up I'll have call Dr office for something else. I hope not I'd like to give full month trial. May be it is too low dose for me."

For Pain "I've got 5 bulging discs and hydrocodone 10-325 three times a day, and I'm pain-free unless I overdo it. No other medication has given me the relief. It's cruel punishment for the government not to allow patients access to this medication!"

For Pain "After taking Hydrocodone for chronic pain for many years, I continued to complain of being uninterested in sexual intercourse, burning during ejaculation, and burning my wife during ejaculation. I have weaned myself off the drug and have noticed these symptoms are going away. Many doctors denied the fact that this drug would cause these problems, but I am happy to say now that I am off Hydrocodone, sex is almost back to normal."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "Many people complaining about side effects of this medication, however, what they are describing is withdrawal symptoms. This medication is being prescribed at much lower equivalent doses than what people are currently taking, hence withdrawal symptoms kick in. After much research, and after titrating up, my suspicions were confirmed. I was experiencing withdrawal symptoms from the reduction in opioids, not side effects from the medication. Unfortunately, the manufacturer is no longer shipping the dosage I am in need of, so after titrating up for the last several months, I am now in a bit of a nightmare, having to come off this med, which was helping! The last several months were frustrating and painful, but finally relief was well within sight, except the manufacturer is not shipping the dose I need."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "I was on Percocet 10 / 325 mg for about 10 years, and I asked to switch first to a bupephrine patch, which I was too terribly allergic to and had awful withdrawal symptoms from, and then I asked to switch to hysingla because I felt like a pill Junkie and disliked the high/low cycle. Plus, I was starting to cheat and take two each morning of my 4 per day allotment. With hysingla, I had to endure titration to get the right med strength so started out with 10 mg for two weeks. I barely felt relief. Then moved up to 20 mg for two weeks but didn't feel too much difference from 10mg. Then tried 30 mg for two weeks and I could tell it was working but not well enough, so now moving to 40 mg. Hopefully this will be the trick."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "Since most pain management docs (PMD) are feeling heat from DEA due to the campaign against opioids, most PMD's are turning to AD formulations to cover their ass. Previous ER formulations provided me with very little relief. Zohydro ER is the exception. It's overall very effective, and releases very evenly over 7 to 9 hours. Been on it close to a year now, and it still works really well."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "When I first started taking it, I thought it was great. I took the 20's twice a day with 10 mg hydro for breakthrough. I have been on it a year and my doctor said I needed the 30 mg but he is closing his practice and won't change any prescriptions before he goes. He said I needed the 30s about a year ago but then wouldn't make the change. I took myself off of them. They only gave me about 3 hours of relief after taking 2 hours to be effective. So now I am looking for a new doctor who will just give me 30mg of hydrocodone a day. That's all I need."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "I'm an amputee and also suffer from hip and back pain I have been in pain management since 2010 and have tried a few different pain meds with very little success till Zohydro was approved by the FDA. I am prescribed 2 50mg Zohydro and as breakthrough pain management I take Oxicodone 15mg 6 times daily and my quality of life has been wonderful I'm 48 a single father of a 4yr old son and have been looking after him since he was 1 year old. Yes at times it's a struggle, before Zohydro just changing diapers was excruciating, much less lifting and holding him. Since it's approval our time together has been the greatest gift ever given to me. I am able to play, take him to the park and be the parent I was before my illness that took my leg and aggravated my other conditions. Zohydro has been great my only issue is the half life is short of the 12hrs"

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "I have been taking the Zohydro 50 for about 8 months now. I started off with the Hyslinga 80 mg but it was not lasting the full 24 hours so my Pain Dr. put me on the Zohydro 50mg twice a day. For the most part it has worked well... I loved the fact that I did not have to take 6 pills a day to try to manage my pain.. And I will say the Zohydro worked a lot better that taking all those pills. My last appointment I got my prescriptions and took to the pharmacy only to find out that my insurance company... Blue Cross/Blue Shield... Yes I am blasting them... Ended up having to go back on the Hydrocodone 10mg 6 times a day and it is NOT working... In CONSTANT Pain... So upset about this!!!"

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "Hysingla is terrible!! It caused extreme pain in my hips, back, and legs. It was prescribed 2 days before a cross country vacation so now I am stuck with this rubbish for 2 weeks at least. I've been on pain meds for 8 years so if I don't take it I will have withdrawal issues."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "I was on Hydrocodone 7.5/500 for my back. Then suffered a head injury in 2013. I was hospitalized for 10 days where they gave me Morphine, Norco, Dilaudid, and Fentynyl. When I got out - I went on Oxycodone. One and a half years later - I wanted out. I white knuckled a harsh withdrawal. But the pain was more spread, and frequent from the injury. I went on Zohydro ER 15 mg, but sometimes needed to take two - it was too much. I dropped to 10Mg - but the insurance doesn't like paying for 120 caps when they can pay for 60 - so I moved to 20 Mg. My favorite part of Zohydro ER is, I think because of the way it is dispersed, I have never suffered any withdrawal symptoms from it when I stop for a couple days. I swear by it. It doesn't completely get rid of my pain, but it alleviates it enough so that I can enjoy some life. Grant you, a higher dosage might get rid of the pain, but I choose not to go that route due to past experience. I do not know that the higher dosage can guarantee me mo withdrawal effects like now."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "This is an update to my posting late Jan. Now after 4 months of titration I'm at 40mg. But disappointed. I could sleep 12 hours each night if allowed to, constantly tired. And taking a new hysingla pill every 15-18 hours for bleed-through pain. Definitely missing my old four times a day Percs, but I'd be doubling up on those too I'm sure. So Dr says live with it. Pain level at 2. But never any better. And that's disappointing. Dr won't go higher."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "I have been taking Hysingla ER for almost one year now. Doctor started me on 20mg and today I am taking 100mg. No side effects for me. I rarely take Vicodin for breakthrough pain now that I seem steady at this dose. It took a while to get me to the right dose. I think it is critical for your pain doctor not to reduce or stop all pain meds when you are on the low doses. It should be done when you get to the dose that works. My doctor was great working with me to get me to the right dose without making me suffer."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "Have had chronic pancreatitis for years. After 5 failed surgeries and trying about 30 different medicines for pain I went to a pain clinic and got put on 10mg zohydro twice a day along with the 10mg of oxycodone every 6 hours for breakthrough pain I had been on for a year or two prior. Works amazing. Take the everyday pain down to a 1 or 2 and I can actually function and have a life now! Only side effect I had was constipation and laxatives make my abdominal much worse so got out on SYMPROIC which works well for the consolation. Only down side is trying to get the prescription at pharmacies has been kind of a pain and every month my script ends up getting filled anywhere from 1 to 3 days after my previous script has run out due to the government having new rules and regulations on ordering these types of medicines."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "This is the only drug that works for me. It lasts longer than Vicodin HP 10/300s and there are no ups and downs, just constant pain relief with no noticeable side effects (I've been taking pain meds for years, though). It's a miracle for me! I am using the new formulation and it does work, but I have to take it 3 times a day since they only last 7 hours, not the 12 it says it should. I have one dose of short-acting for breakthrough pain every day. I'm using the discount program and it is still a high price, I'm worried about affording it! :("

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "I have had a bad total knee replacement and two rotator cuff surgeries that need to be redone, which puts me in basically constant pain. Pain dr has me on 10/325 Norco and as well as hysingla to take at night because it will apparently help me sleep as Norco doesn’t let me sleep. Well Neither does Hysingla, I just lay there and never fall into deep sleep plus it does nothing for pain. The only pain reliever that works for me is Norco. Any suggestions for pain at night with sleep?"

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "I never received much relief from Hydrocodone. Then along came Zohydro - was quite skeptical at first due to the fact I had quite a high tolerance to oxy, but have actually been quite pleased. It's for sure a few steps down from the oxy I was on but, as has already been mentioned, it's not a roller coaster ride you get with a lot of other pain meds. Only sides thus far have been dehydration, fatigue, and very vivid dreams - I wake up really freaked out by how real they seem at times? At first I thought it was due to other things I was taking but have since ruled them out, so it's definitely the Zohydro. Now I wait until I am totally awake before I take my first dose. I do believe that 12 hours of relief is a bit of a stretch and that 9 hours is closer to the length of relief it provides and I'm on the 50's. Do highly recommend."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "I've been on Zohydro ER 50 mg for 2 years now. It works excellent for managing my chronic pain, I don't get 100% relief but I get more relief than I have with other medications. I don't get the High feeling as I felt with other opiates such as Fentanyl , Oxycontin, Opana Morphine. I can remain focused on Zohydro ER. This drug does not have Tylenol mixed with it. I am very happy with my Zohydro ER. I need to take it 3 times a day as it only lasts for about 7 hours before the pain starts to kick back in. The medications ridiculously expensive but I have no choice but to pay if I want to continue getting out of bed every day."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "I have chronic pain due to problems with my spine; it's degenerative disc related, 20 some years, with no surgery possible. I have been practicing yoga for 2 decades. I have needed pain Rx's off & on. Hydrocodone has worked best for me, leaves me clear-minded, able to do all daily living activities, most critical when caring for our then-young children. I was misunderstood by different Dr.'s who simply will do anything to avoid prescribing what a patient actually needs. I became proactive. I take Hydrocodone 10/325 every 4 hours, (4 x day). At bedtime I take 1, Hysingla XR 20 mg. It was my new M.D.'s idea since the intensity of pain prior to the last epidural was high -I hadn't slept many nights in weeks. I do not know how I would be without Hysingla. I also do not know know how patients writing say they take it in the daytime can do so. I suppose it depends on metabolism, what other medications are taken, & tolerance of XR meds. It is still not perfect."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "I was on 50 mg for MS. I didn't feel ANY RELIEF. I see some praising it but say they take regular hydros too so could it really be that good? If you have increased intracranial pressure, I would absolutely advise against taking. After a month, I noticed my vision getting blurry even though my IIH meds were working. Normal pressure is 15, mine was 62 and required 4 spinal taps. After 2 months, I completely lost my vision in one eye. This never helped with the pain but my Dr refused to put me back on hydros. I found the information where it said it was a risk to people with IIH. I told her and that's when she finally took me off and put me back on regular hydros. After a week, I could see colors and lights, after 2 weeks, my vision completely returned. Maybe it is good for some, they didn't go blind. I personally wouldn't recommend it to anyone. If I have to take an ER med, oxy would be my preference"
