Streptozocin Pregnancy Warnings

This drug should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.

US FDA pregnancy category: D

Animal studies revealed evidence of teratogenicity and abortifacient effects. This drug appears rapidly in the fetal circulation when administered IV to pregnant animals, and caused adverse fertility effects in both male and female animals. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy.

US FDA pregnancy category D: There is positive evidence of human fetal risk based on adverse reaction data from investigational or marketing experience or studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.
