"My first infusion of Reclast was September 2018. I had very minor side effects that lasted a few days. On 8/12/2019, I had my second Dexa Scan and my bone density in my spine has increased from 0% to 4%. I fractured my left femur January 2018, so the left leg was scanned the first time yesterday and no surprise I have Osteoporosis in my left leg, as well as my right femur. I'm still a high risk for a fracture. I've been going to the gym and taking many supplements to increase bone density. Not as much gain as I was hoping to see. I may try something else. I'm online searching today. I wish everyone good luck!. I'm 62 1/2. God bless."

"I’ve had the Reclast infusion two times now. I’m 68 and my osteoporosis is not severe, and only in a couple of areas. I haven’t experienced any side effects at all. No improved energy either, as some report. But, my doctor says my bone density has improved following another test. So, I’ll likely continue with what he recommends."

"The WORST side effects - one week later still suffering from bone pain. The first night after IV - all side effects hit at once - fever, chills, nausea, dizziness, and the worst bone pain - it was even painful to take a deep breath or to yawn. I do not know how this passed FDA approval for humans. Totally unprepared for the horrendous side effects with no guarantee that it will be helpful for bone density. It was the worst experience and I would totally advise against taking this medication. If there was an option to give less than “1” I would do so."

My appetite is starting to come back but you’re right some foods don’t taste the same. Still have the occasional pain in my legs not as bad hopefully getting better. "two days after injection I have severe lower back pain, unable to get out of bed without assistance, couldn't bend over, very painful on scale of 1 to 10, my pain level a 7. One week later, severe swelling of left hand fingers, very pain full. Morning headaches, very uncommon for me."

"I tried oral biphosphate and experienced severe bone pain, nausea, and reflux. My doctor suggested Reclast. I had the infusion and within 6 hours experienced nausea and tiredness. I had taken the recommended Tylenol before and after. I went to bed and began to experience waves of severe rib pain from my back to front and vomiting. It was many times worse than childbirth. Luckily, I had an opiate pain reliever. That helped a lot. The feeling bad lasted for about 5 days but the reflux stayed. Never again will I take this drug!!"

"Had my first Reclast Nov. 2020 at 75 year old. The rheumatologist I saw said nothing about side effects. Never told me to prep, ie. drink lots of water, etc. He didn't tell me the name of the drug, and I didn't ask, which was my fault. Also, I didn't ask about side effects. The only reason I know it was Reclast is because the technician showed me the box. That night I woke with chills and terrible pain. I thought I had Covid. When I checked the side effects of Reclast (something I should have done before I had this poison put in my system) I saw chills and aches were side effects, along with insomnia. I suffer from recurring bouts of insomnia. Had I known that side effect alone I wouldn't have gotten the poison. I barely slept for 3 days. The muscle aches lasted over 2 weeks. Now, months later, I can't sleep without taking Trazodone. Never, ever will I get this again."

"I am 56 years old female with sudden onset of osteoporosis, meaning I had no previous knowledge I even had osteoporosis until I obtained a total of 6 disc compression fractures over 2 and 1/2 months in 2022. Head of endocrinology dept. told me to get reclast told me I have nothing to worry about so I did so. No one including this dr. gave me any info as to how to prepare properly nor did anyone state side effects. Because I am not normally ill it did not occur to me to Google reclast or that there could be a potential problem. Omg what a nightmare within 6 hours I had severe bone pain a screaming headache rolling cramps from my toes to the top of my head non-stop for 2 full days became instantly so weak I couldn't lift my arm to cover myself with a blanket. When I thought the worst was over suddenly hit with severe flu-like symptoms, chills, vomiting all for 8 days I literally felt like I was dying. Will NEVER do again. Dr. Thinks I'm crazy. She should be sued for malpractice!"

"After reading the horrible side effects people were having, I was apprehensive about getting the infusion. I was fine after mine. I felt tired, but that’s nothing new. I’m 70 and work full time and stand 6-8 hrs a day, 40 hrs a week. I’ve been fine, and so happy I got the infusion. I am so sorry for people who had horrible side effects. It’s horrible you are suffering."

"I would never get it again. I had previously had 3 screws put in my hip to repair a Crack and I received physical therapy and was about 90% back to walking normal. The day after I received the injection, my hip hurt so bad that I couldn't even walk on it. It's been over 3 months since I received the injection and my hip is still in a lot of pain which makes me walk with a limp now."

"I am 75 and due to fears about side effects I cancelled my ReClast infusion three times! I think I drove my endocrinologist nuts! But I then decided I had no choice as I have osteo in my spine and didn’t want to end up hunched over with all the breathing and digestive problems that entails and, of course, the susceptibility to fractures. I am now 24 hours after the infusion and feeling totally fine. Infusion was on a Weds, I started taking Tylenol and drinking gallons of water over the weekend before. They also gave the med over 30 minutes instead of the usual 15 with 30 mins of hydration before and after. I continue to drink water and take Tylenol. So far so good. Just want to add my experience to encourage others. I know I couldn’t address this with only diet and exercise so the risk was well worth it!"

"I was diagnosed with osteoporosis due to my gynecologist screwing up and not putting me on hormone replacement therapy after a total hysterectomy at age 38. I am now 57, and after this Reclast bone infusion, I have never felt worse in my life. It has been four months since my infusion. I have side effects of vomiting almost every day, acid reflux disease, bone and muscle pain, migraines, lethargy, no libido, hair falling out, jaw pain so bad that I went to a dentist and he said he was afraid my jaw was Necrotic. The following week, the pain was so intense that it dropped me to my knees. I went to Urgent Care and they made me get a CT scan. I now have arthritis in my jaw, TMJ, and can barely eat because of teeth feeling like they’re going to fall out. And I’ve been diagnosed with Celiacs Disease. Mind you, I never had any of this before the infusion. I feel terrible!! I’m so angry that my doctor never told me about these terrible side effects."

"I had my first Reclast Infusion on 4/8/21. I had been on Evenity (romosozumab-aqqg) for the previous year with NO SIDE EFFECTS and with significant improvement in my bone density. My endocrinologist wanted to seal the increased bone density in with a Reclast Infusion. I drank lots of water and took calcium and Vitamins D and K. On the 6th day after the Infusion I was off my water and vitamins. That night I had a headache, swollen painful joints in my hands and wrists. My left wrist and right thumb joint were swollen, painful and red. I had chills and a very stiff neck. I definitely started the water and supplements again! These symptoms except for the chills (only one episode) took about 12 days to resolve. Finally feeling like myself again and am on the other side of it. Not sure if I will take another Reclast Infusion."

"I had my first infusion November 2018 and had no side effects whatsoever. I'm going for another infusion this year and having a bone density test done in the near future. Hopefully my numbers will improve. I only rated it a 7, for now, since I'm not sure of the effectiveness until I have my density test done."

"On March 9,2021. I received the infusion of RECLAST. The worst excruciating painful experience I have had in my lifetime. It hit my shoulders, my arms and neck to where I could hardly move. I had to have help getting up to go to bathroom, could not even dress. I woke up the following morning with this pain and I remained bedridden for 4 days. I still have pain in arms and shoulders. I will never agree to ANY medication for osteoporosis!!! The pain is lingering. Sometimes I have to go to bed. I hope I will get back to where I was before RECLAST and PROLIA. I used to ride my Peloton cycle daily for 20-45 min now I’m unable to. I’m going to Physical therapy to see if they can help me work thru this pain and have a quality of life One night the pain was so bad I went to Drugs.com and found over 13 negative reviews about RECLAST. Oh I wish I had looked this up before agreeing with my PA that I would try this infusion. Never again!!!"

"I could never take any drugs that helped with bone loss. So this led my Dr to try this new drug Reclast infusion he said this would really help me. Well it was okay the 1st 3-4 hours then I started feeling really bad but I hung in the first night thinking this will be the worst. The next day I got up in a fog & on top of that feeling even worse. Finally I went to the ER my B/P had dropped significantly 60/40 & I have high B/P normally. The ER hooked me up to IV fluids and monitoring me. 2 bags fluids B/P up enough to release me. Still in another world by 3rd day I was unsteady when walking, I fell lucky but I didn’t break any bones but stripped the skin off my arm. I laying on the floor in a puddle of blood. I was screaming for help & my help got me up off the concrete floor and cleaned me up. By 4th day finally started feeling like I was back from this 3 day trip to fog land. So never again will I ever be a test dummy for this or infusion."

"At age 54 my dexascan came back with moderate-to-severe osteoporosis. I tried Fosamax, but it caused bad side effects. I tried Reclast. During the first infusion I had no side effects at all. I did drink a lot of water two days prior and took Tylenol. My dexascan improved somewhat. So, I had a second infusion. I prepped for two days, but this time I had a fever and some body aches, which lasted only 24 hours. My dexascan improved even more but not quite enough. So, I had a third infusion the other day. No side effects at all. I didn't have time to prep for two days because of the timing of the infusion. But for the day before and the day of the infusion I drank a lot of water and had no problems. Each infusion lasted 25 minutes. The doctor figures this third dose will move me out of the osteoporosis range to osteopenia. I'm so thankful I didn't have any of the side effects I read about."

"My 1st Reclast infusion was in 2017. I had lots of fluids and used Tylenol. By the evening I felt like I was in such a bad state. It took me 3 months to better. The pain was horrific. In 2018 I was terrified. Again it hit me hard. I could move after 3 days and felt better in a month. My 3rd round my fear was crazy.. The day before I had a gallon of water, a gallon of hydration drink, and Tylenol every 4 hours. The day of the infusion I drank a gallon of hydration drinks. After the infusion I kept drinking as much hydration as I could. To my surprise I not one single side effect. My endo said that I could skip 2020 and maybe skip 2021 depending on my tests. However I will definitely have to start again in 2022. After 3 infusions I haven't broken a single bone. I know that Reclast is helping me. While the side effects have been horrible, it's worth not bumping into some and breaking a bone again."

"Wonderful drug! If you like losing $10,000 in dental work. And I still can't have the rotted teeth removed until the Reclast is out of my system. Even then, my jaw may not be strong enough for teeth implants. HORRIBLE !!!"

"I'm writing this review to offer a different opinion than the scary ones I read the day before my infusion yesterday. 24 hours later, I have yet to experience any adverse reaction. I didn't do anything particular the day before or the morning I received it. I was told drinking lots of water was mainly to ensure good access to a vein. Since I have a major vein that is easy to locate, I didn't do that. I was given an acetaminophen (tylenol) in the doctor's office before the drip was started. I watched a mouth watering British baking show on the big screen in the room and before I knew it, the IV was disconnected. That was it. Maybe I'll have some negative effects tomorrow, but so far, nothing."

"I had the infusion 1 week ago today and it has been awful, I woke up at 4am with severe muscle spasms in my entire back. I could barely get to the restroom. That last for about 15 hrs. Then can the headaches, sore throat and pain and weakness in my left hand. Along with that were swollen legs, especially my left one. I went to the dr. And he diagnosed it as phlebitis. That was 3 days ago. The phlebitis has steadily gotten worse. The headache and the sore throat finally went away. I am praying the phlebitis will clear up with antibiotics. So far no improvement after 3 days. I am most afraid of that. I will never allow myself to go thru that again. I am praying for no permanent damage to my body."

"I received Reclast at 2 pm on a Friday, went home, and felt good but tired. Went to bed and woke up at 3 am with convulsions, shakes, and stiff joints. Three days later and I still have severe pain in all joints. The doctor now prescribing prednisone for 5 days. The pain is worse than my knee replacement.. knee replacement was one localized pain and this is my entire body."
