"Severe dizziness and muscle pain after 8 hours of having Reclast infusion. I could barely walk to my car after shopping at Costco. When I got home, I threw up, my hands shaking from holding my body up from throwing up. My ankles had severe shooting pains, ribs were also hurting. I would never have this done again!!! My identical twin sister opted not having it done. Her bone density is slightly better than mine. She exercises and does resistance training three days a week. She lifts weights and feels great. I on the other hand sit and watch tv, read books, and play on my iPhone, but can’t do any of these things because of the severe pain. I think I am going to start and do strength training to increase bone density like my identical sister before I ever use this drug again! It is poison!!!!"

"At age 54, failed my bone density had lost 20% of my bone mass in one year. I participated in two blind studies and increased calcium and intake. At the end of studies, I found I had the placebos but had some positive results but not enough. Had my first Reclast yearly infusion in 2012, no side effects, and regained 10% of lost bone at bone scan. Had the second yearly infusion this past October again no side effects, hoping for another positive scan in May."

"I took one infusion six months ago. After taking it I woke up in the middle of the night with nausea and my whole body was crippled up. I got to the bathroom and took ibuprofen. Was able to get back to the bed. Better the next day. A few days later I had trouble walking and toes were numb. I still suffer from lower back pain and other side effects. Never again. I won’t know for a while if it was effective. This was much worse than the flu-like symptoms I read about."

"I’m 58 years old and had my first infusion in 2018 and then again in 2019. I just had another bone scan and found out my score is exactly the same. Luckily not any worse, but it did not improve after 2 transfusions. I did have flue like symptoms for 24 hours after the first infusion, but was fine after the second one. I take a daily calcium supplement plus D3. I was just curious if it’s normal for no improvement after two treatments. My score was -2.6"

"Reclast is a bad drug. It made my wife terribly ill! All side effects were devastating! It should be removed from use! She is lifeless in bed. had to take her to the ER for morphine and nausea meds and calcium. This drug is dangerous and the fda should be held responsible for its end results and its allowing of doctors to use in it the USA."

"I had the reclast nfusion less than 1 week ago. First day seemed fine until evening, then headache started. Ended up in bed for 2 days due to exhaustion, body aches, fever and severe headache. 3rd day the pain in my thumbs started, barely able to use my hands, 4th day neck pain, I'm almost afraid what else come up. Debating whether or not I'll take this again next year. Unable to do my normal exercise and stretching due to joint pain."

"Ten days after getting this I had flu-like side effects briefly, and my whole body was itchy with hives. Went to UCLA urgent care last night, I was put in the room with a burning and dying sensation and I waited and waited. I finally ran out asking for Benadryl and unfortunately was disapproved. I ended up walking out thinking I could do better at home. The rash looks like Shingle hives which I am vaccinated against. An antihistamine saved the unbearable itchiness on Sunday. Will never take this in my life and never go to urgent care."

"I am 52 years old with no other medical problems. After having a Reclast treatment, I have had very few side effects. I took 1200 mg a day of Calcium Citrate and Vitamin D for about two weeks before my treatment and drank lots of water the day of the treatment, before and after. I was able to go back to work the day after my treatment with no pain."

"I was diagnosed with osteoporosis at age 47. After completing 2 years of Forteo treatment, I had an infusion of Reclast in Oct. 2014. I didn't experience any side-effects from the drug. I walk five to seven times a week, take a monthly RX Vitamin D tablet, and ensure enough daily calcium with almond milk and supplements. My bone scan of 12/2015 show a -1.3 T Score. I'm back in the osteopenic range - and very happy."

"Hard to tell if this drug worked yet or not but it defiantly made me sick. Got the infusion Friday and on Saturday I had a 102 Fever and could barely get out of bed. I had chills, I'm sweating all over the place and my husband literally had to help me to the bathroom . I was dizzy and every bone in my body ached. By Sunday afternoon, I was a little bit better but four days later I'm still feeling achy and have diarrhea . I won't be doing another infusion."

"74 years old, has back pain, tests identified 2 compression spine fxs. Conservative treatment failed to give relief, had 2 ESIs (epidural steroid injection), then 2 level kyphloplasty ( Vertebral Augmentation for Compression Fractures), next Reclast infusion, felt okay for about 5 hours but later, back pain intensified, went to bed started shaking like chills all over, finally fell asleep, next morning so weak unable to get out of bed, husband rolled me on rolling walker into the bathroom, assisted me on and off commode, stayed the same next day, on monday a little stronger but severe neck and right thumb pain, mostly laying and sleeping in recliner, checked with doctor and no specific recommendations. Next day able to go out to lunch but extremely weak, had another ESI 6 days after Reclast, got relief for that day and next, but pain returned with vengeance the following day and back in recliner now 9 days post infusion. Never again."

"I had the Reclast done March 2015. I read the reviews and had put this off for a year but I am glad I did it because now I have more energy then I did before. I know I kept myself hydrated over a month faithfully and I experience no side effects. Awesome"

"Last year's infusion brought four days of fever, made difficult because I can't take aspirin or other non steroidal anti-inflammatories. After two weeks, I'm nostalgic for those symptoms. This time body temp has stayed in the 96.4 range (95.9 this a.m.), when it's usually 97.6-98.6, so I feel very cold--until I get a savage hot flash requiring me to mop myself off with a towel, at least once an hour. I also have muscle cramps waking me up several times a night (more than prior to treatment). I've been lightheaded and fatigued. I also have fibromyalgia, but these symptoms are different/more intense. The doc told me he can do nothing. I'm frantic because I need to work and find that almost impossible. Anyone else with a situation like mine?"

"I had Reclast infusion 4 weeks ago. Felt fine for the first week and then got lower back, hip, groin and thigh pain. Pain is getting worse by the day. I was told by 3 Doctors that I needed Reclast because I have 50% bone loss due to Chemo and Radiation. When I questioned side effects all Doctors told me it rare. I took a chance and I am miserable."

"I am 66 years old. I had my first Reclast infusion in December 2020. The first week was met with a severe migraine that lasted 7 full days. As soon as that went away, the bone pain came. My shoulders, ribs, hips, and legs felt like they were breaking. I cried when trying to get out of bed or up out of a chair. Two weeks ago, the burning started. Felt like my bones were burning from the inside, & it was painful to use my hands. This is on top of my bones still feeling like they are breaking. This past week, the tremors started. At this point, it's getting harder to fight off the depression. I was a very active person. Side effects are getting worse. I fear this medicine will never get out of my bones, or that it's already caused permanent damage. Reclast has destroyed the past 6 months of my life, & my body. Does anyone have a timeline they can give me, for how long it took to get out of your body, where you had the side effects 6 months or longer?"

"I had the Recast infusion back in March 2019. I have experienced more bone pain than I did prior to the infusion. Still in pain. The day after I had the infusion I had to go to the ER due to higher than normal blood pressure. 196/102. Headache etc. is this normal to still be in pain, and fatigued?"

"Am 73 years old, have been using reclast injections once a year for 7 or more years, last bone density test showed good improvement, had a slight soreness the first time, and have zero side effects since. Am going in today for another test. I guess we all tolerate different things, I take no other medications whatsoever. But for me this seems to be working."

"I had the Reclast infusion on April 4th and 12 hours later I had severe chills (shaking so bad I couldn't close my mouth to take my temp), fever. Lasted for 6 hours. Then I was sick to my stomach for the next day with severe pain in legs (hard to get up from a chair) and my hands (hurt to write). Then I started with "cold" sinus/bronchial infection which sent me to urgent care for inhaler and cough medicine. Back to Doctor after 5 days for antibiotics and I'm still sick one month later. Now jaw pain on left side and my teeth hurt. I will NEVER take reclast EVER again. I hope you won't either!!!"

"Received dose at 11am, by 10pm that night I had fever, chills, severe pain in back. I was extremely ill for 3 days, such a severe headache I couldn't open my eyes. A week later my hands suddenly swelled to the point I could not use them. Now nearly 3 months later I am in physical therapy to try to regain the strength in my legs. Other side effects were less severe, such as jaw pain for a few weeks. I would never ever take this medicine again."

"55 year old with osteoporosis (genetic predisposition as well as early menopause). Had my first infusion yesterday. Did prep with lots of water and Tylenol (hence up peeing throughout the night). Today I am sore, stiff, headache and fatigued. But all manageable with Tylenol and Advil (taken 2 hours apart). Deep breaths hurt and took an almost 3 hour nap today (at least during pandemic I don’t have to work)."

"Had my infusion yesterday. I drank a few glasses of water in the morning and took an ibuprofen during the treatment. I had expected the '3 days of flu like symptoms' and even scheduled sick time to be prepared. Zero side-effects, no aches or pains, nothing...but still taking the time off so I can have fun. My stats: 50, 100#, just finished 2-years of Forteo, I take 1200mg Calcium a day plus a RX Vitamin D each month."

"After being reassured by 2 physicians, one an MD, another Oncologists: that this option for infusion would offset any negative side effects for the benefit would receive. Couldn't have been more untrue in my case. After infusion bedridden for 3 days with limited movement due to extremely painful joints. Been 8 days now & I'm just now getting back on my feet but weak. Please get multiple opinions from all before considering this medication. Never again."

"I have been in pain for over 6 months after Reclast. Picking up a tiny cup of water sends pain to my back. I am okay if resting. Pain in all joints and bones. I am 82. Never a bit of pain prior to this infusion. I have never fallen as an adult. I was never told by doctor to drink water a day prior. I would like to join a lawsuit if there is one."
