"This is my third comment, last one I had found that eliminating coffee helped the drug work better. Well it worked so good that coffee intake crept back in and now although it works, the side effects are off the charts. Fatigue no strength, sinus congestion runny nose shortness of breath, vision problems. Awful. So I am experimenting taking it every other day. As soon as the side effects clear up, it's effectiveness dwindles. If I can skip two days, I'll have a good nights sleep on the second night and no congestion on the third day. Last I took it was early Friday morning and it's now Monday at noon. I'm a little nervous going to work but I'm going to try and make it. if I get really stuck, dunking or spraying my penis with warm water can get things started (like a warm shower can do). I'm taking Cialis 5mg and a natural supplement. I'll have to quit coffee again . I hope to God to wean off this drug and not have to go with a procedure."

"My PSA went from 1.2 to 5.4, but after taking FLOMAX for over a month, my PSA is back down to 2.0. It definitely eased the difficulty in urination, and most nights, I don't have to get up. I have noticed my urine is very dark and strong-smelling first thing in the morning."

"I used this for BHP I took it for 9 months before quitting due to side effects. It helped some on getting up at night, but not worth it. My ejaculate almost disappeared before I realized it was happening. Also my sexual desire decreased. Replaced flomax with doxazosin, which was a little better, but not much. Stopped everything and had Rezum procedure. Now I am back to normal. Meds with negative sexual side effects are not for me."

"Upon starting on Flowmax, urination flow was 100% improved. After 1 month urine flow somewhat more diminished but still well better than without taking Flomax. Trying to work through side effects including mild headache, lightheaded, diminished libido/sexual desire, diminished volume in bowel movements, gas. In my 3rd month of Flomax and not sure the benefits will win over the many side effects I am experiencing."

"I started taking tamsulosin in the middle of September 2019. After a few weeks I started to develop a loss of appetite and a debilitating weaknesses. I became nauseous and was unable to eat. This was not a tired or drowsiness but a profound weakness that prevented anything associated with normal activities. I stopped taking tamsulosin on Thursday 10/10/19. I guess I will know better in a few days."

"I have been using a combination of Flomax with Finesteride for a period of say 2 years. Actually this drug met my requirement, such as smooth urination and broad and fast streeming. If I forget to take this capsule in one night, in the morning all troubles relapse. Disadventage is the side effects. I am having so many mild problems, such as postural hypotension, peeling inside hands and legs, mild migraine, intermittent constipation, but I don't know whether I can attribute all these complaints to the drug. My serious problem is retrograde ejaculation. Fortunately there is no priapism. Second serious problem is meagre erection, so I seldom share bed with my wife. But masturbate once weekly, which does not require full erection."

"Initially, I took the low dosage and flow improved for about a week. Then the condition worsened. My doctor then upped my dosage to two pill per day. Same thing happened initially - flow improved and then reverted back to the prior condition. But as I continued to use the drug (2 times a day) the improved condition returned. Sometimes the flow is better than other times - like when my bladder is more full. Trips to the bathroom at night were reduced to 0 to 1 time. Side effects. Initially, I experienced many side effects - runny noise, minor headache, aches and weakness in my back and shoulder, and retrograde ejaculation. Retrograde ejaculation is the only side effect that seems to persist."

"Been on Flomax for BPH for 7-8 yrs now. Its improved my urinary volume and flow rate But it has also caused me to have dry ejaculations at times. I can maintain erection and have mutiple ejaculations, but its effect on relaxing the prostate slows my volume of ejaculate."

"I was having the usual symptoms - hesitation, weak stream, frequency day and night, incomplete emptying - sometimes couldn't go at all unless I got in a hot shower. Very frustrating. I started and stopped this twice. First time was alarmed at ejaculation problems (no semen), the second time for irregular heartbeat. But the side effects seem to have subsided this third try even though I I don't ejaculate, I do reach orgasm. This is a minor bother compared to how effective it is at solving all my symptoms. I've been on it two weeks."

"After a few days Flomax did work and increased my stream. I was unable to orgasm or ejaculate on this drug. If you have no interest in sex it does work. I took lowest dosage. I believe it was .04 MG I stopped taking the drug. Going to Dr. to try another."

"Since being on Flomax my bowels don't function properly. Constipation. Need laxative every 3 days. Stomach aches, cramps, low energy, dizziness. Just generally feel bad. Hardly ever leave home now. Its terrible. Been on it 90 days. Wasn't sick until I started taking this drug. I'll elect surgery early if necessary to get off this drug."

"I have frequent urination at night. Dr prescribed Flomax. I took my first pill last evening 30 minutes after dinner. Felt nauseous in the morning. Got up for work and nearly passed out in the shower. Flopped on the bed wrapped in a towel. Had a cold sweat. My BP must have dropped. I did not go to work today and have been lethargic all day. I am not taking Flomax ever again."

"Before Flomax for 6 weeks I had experienced urgency to urinate, dribbling, reduced flow. Within one day of starting Flomax, it was like magic - I noticed increased flow, no dribbling, no urgency to urinate, less frequent urination. Also, I noticed that the muscles in my groin area seemed more relaxed. I did notice an undesirable side effect though; dry mouth. I have to speak a lot at work, and a couple of times my mouth dried up and I had difficult speaking."

"Wow! Took Flomax one time and it greatly improved urine flow and got rid of urgency! The downside was a pounding headache and the complete elimination of ejaculate. It’s a shame..I had high hopes! Doctor recommended discontinue use immediately which I already had done. He recommended Saw Palmetto. We’ll see how that goes! Desperate for a solution!"

"Within a week of beginning the medication my energy plummeted. I also developed a tooth abscess which I have come to find out as a possible side effect. As far as benefits nothing is discernible. After walking out the flight of stairs in my gym heading for the treadmill I became so lightheaded and nauseous I had to go and sit down which is completely opposite of my normal conditioning."

"I have been on Tamsulosulin for about 6 months, I don't have any side effects, I did have retrograde ejaculation for about a week, but all has been well since. I do forget to take the 1 tablet occasionally. Actually forgot this weekend. I don't notice a marked difference with or without the drug, perhaps a slightly weaker stream and a slightly harder time passing urine, but I do wonder if its actually worth taking? I will discuss this with my Urologist. So give it a go if your Dr says so it dose help a bit."

"I don't know if this medicine would have worked or not because after three days I was so weak and dizzy from low blood pressure that I stopped taking it. Better to get up 1-2 x a night to pee than pass out from walking across the house. If you have low-to-normal blood pressure, watch out. Also tried doxazosin/Cardura before this with similar results."

"Been taking Flomax for about 4 years. Works great for me. Still go 4 or 5 times during the day, 0 to 2 at night. It's great to not have pain and difficulty when starting to pee. Thanks to those who took up the cause and found this medicine."

"Took Flomax for 1 1/2 years for an enlarged prostate. On the positive side, it did help ease the flow of urine, though not significantly on the frequency. However, my blood pressure kept dropping and on my daily walks I noticed I would often feel like I'm going to pass out or faint. This was happening 4 or 5 times per hour, so I asked my doctor if I could withdraw the medication to see if these attacks or syncope would go away. After 3 days I noticed that the symptoms had gone. It's about 1 month now without an attack. So my personal diagnosis, for what it is worth, is that Flomax can reduce blood pressure enough to cause symptoms akin to syncope."

"I was prescribed Flomax several years ago and experienced only ejaculation problems. I'm 82 now and several of the many side effects have surfaced. 1. Rapid heartbeat as high as 167. 2. Low blood pressure (causing fainting symptoms). It doesn't seem to have affected my libido but the watery ejaculation is a nuisance. If you read the complete list of side effects you'll undoubtedly find yourself in there somewhere. Then you can make an informed decision on what's best for you. Me? I'm stopping as of right now!"

"Taking a 0.4 mg capsule resulted in side effects that made me want to stop taking Flomax. I now open a capsule and pour out half of the contents, resulting in a 0.2mg dose in the re-sealed capsule and another 0.2mg dose that I put into a tiny piece of dough. I am 62 yrs, had 2 types of radiation treatment for prostate cancer 7 yrs ago; am taking Flomax to counter the feeling of urgency to urinate frequent urinations (due to the bladder not fully emptying during urination). Flomax side effects = headaches, insomnia, stuffy sinus; however I need to stay on Flomax longer (than 1 week) to make a definite conclusion. 7 yrs ago I had no bad side effects but stopped due to price of Flomax."
