"Started with an ejection fraction of 20 percent and after being on Entresto for 3 months it is now at 55 percent! I feel so much better, more energy, and my kidney function improved. I had always gone to another doctor and not one of my primary care doctors or cardiologist, and they told me about Entresto. After being admitted to Hospital for CHF, their cardiologist put me on Entresto and it has been a life saver! Cost a little more, but like anything else, if you want something bad enough you find a way to pay for it. I’m happy to have a life now."

"I was on Entresto for about a week; Dr. said this is the best drug to help with hf, ha...ended up in ER with severe lower, kidney pain, and couldn't move without horrible pain. Stopped and back on lisinapril and hope it works. My infraction rejection went from 45 down to 35; Dr. Doesn't know why and said try this drug. Think we are all guinea pigs when you try a new drug....Maybe good for some ,but not me. Good luck if you are on."

"One day when I was out and about I met a young lady and all of a sudden she just started talking to me about her condition and it was almost the same as mine. We both had leaky valves and very low ejection fraction. Mine was at least 20-25%. She told me to try entresto, she said it's been working for her. So to make long story short I took her advice and asked my doctor to take me off losartan and let's try entresto. It improved my breathing immediately but after a month of taking it , I started getting all of these side effects like itching, headaches, joint stiffness, coughing etc. Finally some of the side effects did get better . I started the entresto at the beginning of February. Today is June 4th I just got an echo done today and my E F is now 45- 50%. I give god the glory for this drug called entresto and for the angel he sent my way to advise me to take it"

"I have been on this for only 3 weeks, but haven't noticed any improvements-actually feel worse. I am more tired than before & suddenly started throwing up at night about 4 hours after eating, since day one of taking entresto. Also I cough all day & all night, which interferes with my sleep (maybe thats why I'm so tired-I don't know) I have no energy at all. The coughing gets to me the most - constant, dry cough & throat tickles all the time. Back pain all of the sudden, & thigh pain. I will give it another couple weeks to see if things level out & I start to feel better. But so far, not happy with it"

"I have Idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy & eft bundle branch block (LBBB) after taking Entresto for 4 months my ejection fraction dropped from 31% to a mere 17%. After the 1st week on this drug I told my doctor of fatigue in my legs, to which he denied being from the drug. Weeks went on, I complained of the same issues, I suffer tachycardia episodes, these doubled. I complained, he denied it being from the drug. I began to feel older than my age of 56, I complained, he denied. I told him I wanted my enalapril back, he denied me. Finally I asked at what point do you know if the drug is helping my ejection fraction ? He said at the 3 month mark. I was at the 4 month mark. I insisted on an Echo & it came back at the decreased 17 %. I finally got my enalapril back, as well as a new doctor. Still waiting to see if I will survive."

"For me Entresto has been a miracle medicine. Have been on the middle dose for over a year. I am able to do just about every kind of physical activity with ease. I have had no significant side effects. I do not feel like I have HF and hope to have a new test to see whether my ejection fraction has increased from 25%. OK, so it seems that it does not work for everyone, but for many it is really incredible. I take Lasix everyday and have lost over 50 pounds by following a very low carb diet. I also do a high level exercise regime almost every day for 25 minutes. In the past five months I gone on five foreign trips that involved considerable activity."

"Began taking Entresto Oct. 2017 for CHF and my heart function has greatly improved. Nevertheless, I can attest to the fact that weight gain is a definite side affect. Within the first month I gained 11 pounds and within the first year I gained 38 pounds. Follow-up appointments and conversations with my cardiologist only resulted in him not acknowledging the fact of this apparent side affect and proceeding to tell me that, “This weight gain is definitely not a side affect and I should join Weight Watchers.” I’ve now been taking Entresto for 19 months along with exercising and eating healthy foods, this medication is still producing weight gain. No matter how strongly the doctor denies weight gain as a side affect, the truth of the matter is that, “weight gain is a definitely a proven side affect.”"

"Very good medication on third week very good results. I was on lisinopril. I have congestive heart failure have no side effects on Entresto and n makes my blood flow much better. It keeps my blood pressure a little low but much better results with lowest dose entresto versus lisinopril was on 5 mg of lisinopril still taking metoprolol 25 mg once a day cut in half. Anyhow I thought I would share hope - it helps some people. I am having very positive results you will know what your body will except and what works well for you. Good luck."

"After a few of weeks taking the lowest dose, my dad started feeling weak, he could not breathe, and he could not walk anymore. The doctor kept saying to take Entresto because it is a miracle drug and that he just had low iron in his blood. Well, we went to another cardiologist and my dad was full of fluids with almost an edema in his lungs! Plus, his EF got worse. Please be careful with this drug, it is not good for old people, they are too delicate, it can even kill you."

"9 months ago at the age of 64, I was diagnosed with CHF with an ejection fraction of 15%. I take Entresto 97-103 mg and Carvedilol 25 mg and after 6 months my EF climbed to 60%. Yes, initially there were side effects, but they have all left. I am very grateful for these medicines."

"My husband was in the ER with 13% heart function. We both thought he was going to die. He was hospitalized for 10 days. No blockages detected through catheterization procedure. Was told he just had a weak heart. Cardiologist treating him put him on Entresto to see if it would help strengthen his heart. He has been on it since March 2022. Last week (June 2022) his EKG and check-up with his cardiologist showed his heart functioning at 55%. We were floored! And VERY happy to hear such good news. I have not read any of the low ratings here but am going to. I sincerely am sorry if this drug has not been a success for you, or a loved one. But I am here to say that sometimes miracles do exist and can be in the form of a drug such as Entresto. I certainly hope my husband continues to improve, gain strength and build his confidence. Sending well wishes out into our world. I wish you good health, and happiness."

"The side effects of this medicine ALMOST KILLED ME!!! I had trouble breathing. It lowered my left ventricle ejection fraction 30-35% to 15-20%, and I went from a normal-sized heart to severely enlarged in just 6 months. Read about the side effects and the incomplete clinical trials; this medicine may be detrimental to your health."

"Im 34 years old. The doctor claimed my heart was weak because of non compaction and my ejection fraction was at 30 percent from echo . He told me to take entreso. I was taking it for 6 months, then they sent me to take a MRI. The MRI showed the ejection fraction was 38%. All of a sudden my body started to reject entreso. My feet and hand started to tingle, I was extremely dizzy, I was having chest pain under my pec muscle and one night I was breathing funny and I thought my life was finishing. I was like is this is it? The next morning I tried to contact my doctor office and they claim thats normal. So I took on my own, and stopped taking the pills for a while. I want my ejection fraction to increase. "

"EXTREME CAUTION!!! Ended up in the ER 3 times and still having effects from it. Only took one pill and couple hours later throat started closing up, face turned red and felt puffy. Took benadryl and symptoms subsided until I woke up. Then the horror began!! The worst pvc's I've ever had in my life!!! Constant and eventually painful after a day or two. Horrible diarrhea and stomach discomfort, bloating, esophageal pain, irritated bowels etc.. First ER visit of course they found nothing wrong. Second ER visit PVCs had subsided some but couldn't eat or they'd become worse. Soon as "food" or bile or etc got to colon, more PVCs. Third ER visit gave me xanax, and acid reducer. Zanax helped some but been struggling since. 3 weeks later still having issues but less so. Before I was fine but the inflammation irritation it cause my insides has put me through HELL. Lost out on jobs, constant anxiety, still get PVCs but thankfully not sustained and barely discomfort or pain. HORRIBLE DRUG!!!!"

"My cardiologist put me on Entresto and off Ramipril approximately 6 months ago. After numerous concerns about how I felt “extremely tired, back pain ,irritable, tingling in my hands and feet I was told statistics show Entresto is a good drug. I was sick and tired of walking around like a zombie so I took it upon myself to stop taking it for a while. I’ve been off it now for a month and feel like my old self, my wife noticed a big change even in the bedroom. I work cutting grass at golf course and get up at 4am and go home to do things around the house after work with energy to burn. This drug isn’t for me I’ve had 3 stents put in and I finally feel great again!!!!!"

"A NP switched me from Lisinopril to Entresto eight weeks after Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) x2. Bad news from day 1. I took it for approximately 5 days thinking it must just be me, not realizing I was hitting on EVERY side effect mentioned. I've taken all kinds of drugs (including some illicit's that I'm not real proud of) and in my case found this one to be the most dangerous compound I have ever come across. Blood pressure dropped, fatigue, constant nausea and dizziness, unbelievable shortness of breath even with the most minor exertion, night sweats and a cough I didn't have before. I put this med in the toilet and went back to Lisinopril. No problems now and have changed cardiologist."

"Took the 24 mg med and feeling lightheaded and dizzy. Blood pressure dropped to 60 and was sent to ICU for observation for several days. My potassium level went up to 6.9 and lab test results show kidney problems. The new cardiologist put me on Metolazone instead to removed excess fluid on lungs and it worked great! No more shortness of breath and no more swelling on the legs, stomach and no excess fluid on lungs. I advised to take a look at it first and do your research before taking this medication. Good thing I only took it for 6 weeks but that short time did not gave me good results."

"I took Entresto only 2 days then I had started to have such terrible back and side pain that I could not stand erect. The worst side effect was night terrors that we’re so bad that I could not shake reliving the dreams even when awake. It blurred my vision to the point that I could not see a large piece of equipment standing in my yard. I ask my wife if the workers had come to remove the equipment without my knowing it. I normally have such good vision that at 74 I still do not require glasses, not even to read. This is not a medication for me."

"I've been on entresto for two months and my heart has become extremely worse. My kidney has also deteriorated rapidly. I've lost a lot of weight, decreased appetite and decreased energy . I'm not going to say this medication is garbage because I'm sure for others it may have helped them but for me it has not. My doctor has taken me off of entresto today and I have to go back on my old medication in 36 hours. I'm hoping life goes back to normal before I started the use of this medication."

"I have congestive heart failure (ejection fraction around 27%) after massive attack back in Nov 2013. My cardiologist switched me from Ramipril to Entresto on Feb. 1st 2019 and within a couple of weeks use starting having swelling & severe calf muscle pain, muscle weakness in my legs, waking up in the night with ice cold toes & feet. Lower legs felt "hard" and swollen but not like when I retained fluids, much more painful. Had a significant (& scary) increase in my blood pressure readings. Overall body weakness and feeling like crap, dizziness & "spacey" feeling. Made me feel much worse than I had ever felt since my "event" in 2013. Stopped taking it and went back to my old med and felt back to my "normal" within a week. Three months later now and still recovering from the damage/pain to my calf muscles. What a nightmare Entresto was, it was truely awful for me."

"I was on Isosorbide with a cheap copay. The doctor switched me to Entresto with a high copay. At first the ProNTBNP numbers looked good. They have been steadily climbing. The doctor seems satisfied if my number goes into the 1,000s. Novartis the maker has been found giving kickbacks to doctors. Seems the doctors have a financial interest keeping you on the expensive drug. He hinted my EF would go up with it. So far it hasn't."

"I went into Sudden Cardiac Arrest and had to be shocked with the defibrillator. My heart was functioning at 35%. I now have a implanted defibrillator. My cardiologist said that they think I had a virus that attacked my heart which caused myocarditis. Dr. Prescribed Entresto and Carvedil and Aldactone. I had to have the Dr lower my dose of the Carvedil because I was experiencing very bad dizziness and lightheadedness. The Entresto has me coughing all day and night. It’s the worst feeling having to cough so much. I just recently had an ultrasound and after few months on this medicine, my heart is still pumping at 35%. I pray that this number increases."
