For Panic Disorder "I had suffered for 6 long years with panic attacks, to the point I was suicidal. I could hardly go to work, did hypnosis, went for walks in the middle of the night to fight the attack that would wake me out of my sleep. By misdiagnosis of probable thyroid disease, I was given Propranolol. It took about 3 weeks for it to help with the panic. This drug literally saved my life. I have been diagnosed with a severe general anxiety condition and I have been panic attack free. I have been on this drug for approximately 20 years, and although doctors suggest this is far too long, they decided to keep prescribing it as I have had no adverse reactions in this time frame. To the makers, I thank them for this drug."

For Anxiety "I cannot speak highly enough of this medication. I have had general anxiety for as long as I remember. I have always had a fast heartbeat (a physiological symptom of my anxiety), regularly got palpitations randomly, I often had skipped and missed heartbeats which freaked me out, far more often I believe than the general population. After trying SSRIs and benzos, I asked my doctor for this medicine after doing some research. Well, I cannot believe it, I feel calm, nothing panics me. It is not addictive like other first-line treatments for anxiety. My heart does not race randomly, even the skipped beats I used to get numerous times a day have all but gone. In my opinion, if you have anxiety, this should be the first port of call. It's changed my life."

For Migraine Prevention "The secret to this medication working with low to no side effects is taking a very low dose (5-10mg) consistently. I take 5mg once and occasionally twice a day for over 10 years now. Migraine reduced by 90% to live a normal life without all the side effects. I got taking high doses 10 years ago when I started with 80mg and was always tired, dizzy, weight gain, fluid accumulation in my feet, nightmares, insomnia, dry eyes, dry mouth, dehydration, hair loss/thinning, etc., wasn't worth it until I read a reviewer mentioned low dose."

For Performance Anxiety "Back in 1976, when I was in my early 20s, I was at a low point in my life due to my social anxiety. My doctor prescribed propranolol 10 mg several times a day. The drug helped me tremendously, controlling my shaky hands, racing heartbeat, sweating when faced with presentations and even just social interactions. I have had a successful career making many presentations to large groups with no symptoms. I'm now retired and playing guitar and singing in a band. I could have never done these things without propranolol. It is a miracle drug."

For Anxiety "I take this medication for extreme anxiety and autism symptoms. Before I started taking it roughly a year ago, I struggled a lot. I could stay awake for days at a time, wake up from a dead sleep panicking, wake up every 5 minutes, hulk out with sensory overload, fail to interpret what others were saying incorrectly, etc. I had been thrown on many medications since the age of 12 for this. I don't know how I lived without it. My whole life has changed and my relationships with others."

For Anxiety "After years and years of chronic anxiety, having tried citalopram and diazepam and still, I was having major bad all-day-long anxiety, I finally gave in to the propranolol. I was on this years ago but I didn't like it. All I can say is it's absolutely amazing. I'm only needing between 10 and 20mg a day, and honestly, it's a lifesaver. I am the woman who couldn't even take her kids to school without someone being with me, and now I'm off, and I don't panic about every situation anymore. Try it, it's fab xx"

For Anxiety "My presenting was so bad at work that they actually signed me up for training. Nothing worked because the issue was not related to technique or preparation. I just hated public speaking because of my body's physical reaction to the stress. I took 10mg 1.5 hours before and another 5mg 45 minutes before a big presentation, and I did a great job. My boss also complimented me on how I handled questions. I also took 10mg before a different meeting, and at some point, I said to myself 'I can't wait to go and get this over with.' Typically I would be thinking 'I hope we run out of time or they forget to cover my section.' I plan on taking a maximum of 10-20mg a week, hoping that once I can disassociate stress from speaking, I won't need it any longer."

For Anxiety "Ok here we are 3 months later, I've been taking 40mg propranolol for anxiety and they worked for the first 2 months leaving me with fatigue but taking the edge off it, like a horse with blinkers on. Now I take it and I feel worse excess sweating and nonsensical thoughts to whip up my anxiety. Ia m at a loss the doctor said increase it, and my thoughts are where does it end! I personally think I am going to decrease it by biting half the tablet and try something else. It is dreadful. I really do feel for you people suffering from anxiety, there is no easy fix, I tend to use alcohol which works, but short lived and comes with its own payoff. Ia m stuck. Any advice would be appreciated thanks."

For Panic Disorder "I've been on propranolol 80mg for 2 years along with mirtazapine 15mg. On these two meds, I will say I feel absolutely amazing. It stops my panic attacks like a cure and helps with stopping me thinking about the panic disorder. I used to get fast heart rate, hot flashes, turning stomach, and racing thoughts, but not anymore. It's a miracle combo, yippee! So yeah, it works differently on different bodies. It's how your body responds to the medication. For me, it slows my heart rate down, not dangerously low, but low enough where I feel more relaxed, yet with energy. I feel happier with a mild euphoria, and my sweating goes away. My sweaty hands have stopped, and the shivering has gone. If anyone is suffering from anxiety, please try propranolol first. It will make the difference. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

For Anxiety "This med puts a stop to pretty much all of the physical symptoms of my anxiety. I struggle in pretty much all social situations that I deem as a 'performance' - that would be anything from ordering a pizza over the phone or buying a bus ticket to presenting to a class of 100 students. I generally get a very high heart rate and my voice begins to quiver and sound weak, I'll sweat loads and have all the other usual symptoms of anxiety. I've found Propranolol completely erases these effects. Fantastic! One thing I would mention is that you will still feel the mental effects of anxiety, e.g. worrying and fretting before the event that makes you nervous, but having these in your system can assure you that these won't manifest into physical symptoms."

For Performance Anxiety "For some reason or another, I have a deathly fear of public speaking and presentations. Such a fear that I would do anything to get out of speaking in front of classmates. On the first day of this semester, the professor announced that each person was to stand up one by one and tell the class about themselves. I walked out of the classroom and emailed the professor that I forgot my laptop somewhere and went to go find it before it was stolen (total lie). While presenting, my heart pounds, I lose my breath, my voice quivers, etc. It is beyond embarrassing, and I stress days before I know I'm going to present. I finally went to my doctor after reading the reviews on this website and was prescribed propranolol. I took it today and felt great during my talk in a 200-person lecture hall. This medicine keeps your body so calm the entire time. Your heart doesn't pound, you breathe normally, your voice doesn't shake. It's such a relief, and I'm so happy I found out about it."

For Performance Anxiety "Propranolol launched my career! I suffered from severe fight-or-flight syndrome during presentations, interviews, meetings, and even phone calls. Symptoms included rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, sweating, weak voice, etc. I started taking these almost a year ago and have since been promoted to a director position. I present to our entire organization and lead meetings with our executive team - symptom-free! I use 10 mg for meetings and up to 40 mg for presentations and interviews. I have also used 10 mg before a golf tournament and the 1st tee box jitters were completely gone. The rest of my game still sucked, but it felt good not to dribble the first one off the tee!"

For Panic Disorder "This drug is a miracle to me. I have been in and out of hospitals for months nonstop with panic attacks that really feel like death is near. I was taking benzos here and there to keep anxiety and panic away. Then I was introduced to propranolol. It has completely changed my life; my anxiety is in check and panic attacks are gone. I do get a little nervous sometimes, but this drug helps keep it in check. This drug has changed a lot of fears I have. Thank you."

For Anxiety "I've only been on propranolol for a couple of days. I was prescribed these due to constant ectopics (heart flutters) due to anxiety; however, I could not get them to stop. They've been a problem for a few years, but they've never been so bad. This medicine has pretty much stopped my ectopics altogether if not reduced them so much where I can actually relax! I would really recommend."

For Anxiety "It is listed as one of the most important meds in history. It is considered extremely safe and the pharmacist who developed it for heart disease won the Nobel Prize. It has been tested and tested since 1960 and is considered the least side effect med for angina, hypertension, performance anxiety, essential tremors and general outward physical symptoms or anxiety (leg shakes, sweating, etc.) It is one of the best and safest drugs ever designed for moderate anxiety and to prevent heart problems."

For Anxiety "Was prescribed propranolol 3 months ago after suffering for years with heart palpitations, skipped beats, and extra beats. After thorough investigations, my doctors could find nothing out of the ordinary wrong with my heart, and I guess I knew deep down I was suffering with anxiety. So I take 20mg in the morning and 10mg at night. OMG, the effects were almost immediate. I remember stepping out of the shower in the morning and my heart rate was lovely and slow, not racing like the clappers as usual. What a relief. But like everyone says on here, this medication only helps keep your physical symptoms in check. But because of this, it does help with the worrying. Anyway, bottom line, I would recommend it in a heartbeat. No pun intended ♥️"

For Anxiety "I have been taking propranolol for almost 3 months for anxiety. I've got to say by far it's the best med I've taken. After being on antidepressants - Prozac, then citalopram, and now sertraline, and none of them work to stop my panic attacks. My doctor decided to try me on beta blockers. I've honestly got my life back; I was basically agoraphobic before this. Highly recommend."

For Anxiety "I developed social anxiety at around the age of 26. It would be especially heightened in stressful situations (e.g. job interviews, presentations) where I could develop tremors in the head, sweating, racing heart, and a mind blank. I have found that propranolol has completely got rid of all physical symptoms. The fact they have gone means I can focus more on the presentation or topic of conversation, and I find the mental block has 90% disappeared in turn. I was in a place where I thought nothing could help me; propranolol has really helped me, and I would recommend it to anyone who is having severe issues with social anxiety!"

For Anxiety "Military vet with a metal spine, single dad, moved cross country and got surgery during a pandemic, yadeyah. Life caught up with me and I wound up having some nasty heart palpitations/flutters from what was thankfully only anxiety and stress. Chest pain, limb pain, cold toes, tingling, faint feelings, restlessness, you name it. Wound up in the ER and Urgent Care three time over three weeks, when a smart P.A. finally gave me something for all these symptoms: Propranolol. Took 20mg as needed and my heart and other symptoms immediately calmed down. Ironically, the groggy feeling from it initially made my anxiety worse for a day. Probably the mental game, which this won’t help with much. But once you’re over the first dose it should help if you’re dealing with similar physical symptoms of anxiety. Definitely calms this one down and takes the edge off. Bonus: I lucid-dreamt, that was fun/interesting."

For Performance Anxiety "I am actually a physician (weird, I know), and always had a problem with anxiety. At one point, it was truly affecting my life. I could cope and work, but like many of us, I constantly had the fear of 'panicking' or 'losing control.' It started to affect my work, so I actually became a patient and asked my doctor for some help. I've never had trouble dealing with the stress mentally, but the physical symptoms just drove me crazy and made the anxiety worse. I'd get shaky, warm, uncomfortable, etc., etc. On THE FIRST DAY I took 10mg, my life changed. Every single negative body symptom I experienced was gone. My confidence came back, and honestly, I'm a better physician because of it. Simply amazing."

For Anxiety "I’ve been using Propranolol for about 2 weeks now and after years of using numerous antidepressants and them not working, this drug is THE ONE! I had a few side effects of nausea and diarrhea for around 24 hours, which is apparently normal, but it started to work pretty much straight away. I’m more laid back, can tolerate just about anything and everything. Whereas before, I’d be full of anxiety, anger, getting upset, etc. It’s not gone 100%, but compared to before, I’m heaps better. Wish I’d known about it sooner."

For Performance Anxiety "Why is this not a listed anxiety drug!!! I have tried therapy to no avail and this drug saved my career. My job involves presenting, however, I developed pre-covid a crippling response when I stand to introduce myself. A severe rush of adrenaline, every inch of me screaming RUN RUN RUN. Sweaty, shaky, unable to speak or breathe, heart pounding. The feeling was terror. I unfortunately ran out of a big presentation in front of the board and had to leave my old job. I then found propranolol and all symptoms gone when I pop a 40mg pill 1h then 30min before. Lucky I found it when I did."

For Panic Disorder "I’d suffered on and off with panic attacks for years, oftentimes worsened by prescriptions (particularly Citalopram). My doctor recommended I switch to Sertraline after regular panic resurfaced. but after such a bad experience with Citalopram I asked if there were any options besides antidepressants. I felt that my problems were oftentimes worsened by physical issues such as palpitations and shortness of breath (for example, running up some stairs too fast would obviously raise my heartbeat which I oftentimes struggled to differentiate from the beginnings of a panic attack and thus it would escalate into one) and my doctor suggested I try Propanolol. It has been a game changer for me. I feel more secure in the knowledge my heartbeat is more controlled (or at least it feels this way). I’ve been on this for over a year now and wouldn’t try anything else. I would definitely recommend it if you experience panic attacks that are often triggered by more physical problems."

For Migraine Prevention "I've taken this drug propranolol for close to 2 years for chronic migraines, and it's just as good, if not better than Topamax, Gabapentin, Aimovig, and Amitriptyline. I've tried every possible migraine preventative, and this medication makes it possible for me to function. Without it, I experience daily headaches and full-blown migraines with vomiting, light and sound sensitivity, and inability to talk. Very few, if any, side effects. Highly recommend it if you don't want something as high risk as Topamax but as effective. It also helps with my anxiety greatly by reducing my heart rate and feels like the racing heartbeat isn't nearly as intense during anxiety attacks. HUGE thumbs up. I never let the prescription run out."
