For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I have had severe anxiety for over 16 years since my daughter was born, and I have gotten to the point that I just think I'M GOING TO HAVE TO LIVE WITH THIS. Then last night, I was taking my propranolol when I noticed I had some Lyrica, which the doctors gave me ages ago but I would not take it. I was that desperate yesterday, I took some. For the first time in 16 years, I have no anxiety or panic (this is about an hour after taking the Lyrica). I slept properly for the first time, and I am also doing tasks in the house that I normally put off as I'm so agitated. Going to the doctor in the morning to see if he will give me a script for them. I notice a change more or less immediately. I would recommend this medicine to anyone who has anxiety."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I have spent this past year being very depressed with severe anxiety. It seemed like whatever med the doctor wanted to try on me for my anxiety didn’t work. The antidepressant, Celexa, was suppose to help with GAD but as far as I’m concern, I believe it made my anxiety worse. My anxiety became very crippling. I asked to be taken off Celexa and put on Prozac recently. He made the change for me and said he wanted me to try Lyrica for my anxiety since the gabapentin and clonazepam I was on didn’t work well for me. I tried the Lyrica at 50 mg 2X a day that my doctor gave me a script for, and the crippling anxiety was gone and the depression lifted. I’m glad I found something that finally worked for me. I know everyone is different and what may work for one person may not work for another. You just have to find what works for you. My girlfriend can’t take Lyrica. At 25 mg 2x a day, she felt high and really dizzy. So she’s on something else that works for her."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Fibromyalgia "I was prescribed Lyrica (pregabalin) about 6 months ago. I was so shocked by the feelings of unreality it initially caused that I quickly stopped taking it. My fibromyalgia got so bad at the end of the year that I decided to try it again. I take low doses, 25 mg 2x a day, sometimes a 50 mg. The effect sets in within hours. My fibromyalgia pain is almost completely gone. A late evening dose allows me to sleep longer. I do feel strange when I take it, and my intellectual capacity is quite affected, but the lack of distraction by the pain and better social interaction with increased confidence levels makes up for that. I have to make sure that authorities and decision-making bodies are aware of my reduced competence."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Neuropathic Pain "600 mg of Lyrica works wonders for me. It's a very good drug and completely takes away the pain. Without this drug, I would go insane. I've gone days with so much pain that I thought of committing suicide. Really awful feeling because I have always enjoyed life, and I'm only 38. Nerve pain is by far the most painful pain I have ever had. To all of you who suffer out there, there will always be a medicine that can help you. Don't give up; there is a way out of this horrible condition. I hope everyone finds relief."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I've suffered from GAD for 20 years, tried everything, but this is by far the best. This works. Take it to make your life happier. Don’t suffer in silence. I take 300 mg in the morning and 300 mg at teatime, and if I have to stay on it to give me a good quality of life, then I will."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I started taking pregabalin yesterday - started at a low dose of 75mg in the morning, then 75mg in the evening. The effect was pretty much instant, I swear. I went from being hypersensitive, worrying, stressing, and having all these horrible physical symptoms (from the anxiety disorder I have been diagnosed with) to being calm, having a subtle feeling of well-being... my acid reflux stopped, my muscles have started to lose their tension, the tension headaches are lifting too. Side effects? A little sleepy, but nothing too severe. I haven't listened to music for months and been able to enjoy it, but today I AM! ... amazing! I feel like a normal person, it's like the volume has been turned down on life to a level I can manage :)"

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Wow, I can honestly say this medication helps. Not at first though. It took a while, but eventually, I could take 150mg 2 or 3 times a day and anxiety would melt away within an hour... I am leaving the house more (I had problems with that because of the severe anxiety I was experiencing), I shake less, and feel less scared and afraid and I worry less too about anything. Overall, on Lyrica (pregabalin), I just feel much calmer. Like if my anxiety is at an 8.3/10, it brings it down closer to a 5/10 or less sometimes. I also take clonazepam as a PRN (take as needed), and the combination of both helps even more. Worth a try."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Neuropathic Pain "Biggest scam on earth! I had suicidal thoughts and went into massive depression while using Lyrica. Lyrica has been found to be ineffective in numerous research papers and linked to depression and suicide. It does great in the market because of the phenomenal kickbacks Pfizer offers to doctors to push its sales (an expensive medicine with no generic alternative and claiming to cure a patient in extreme pain, is a great way to milk the market). Pfizer spent $2 billion in marketing this drug by offering doctors & family free vacations, was found guilty and fined $1 billion by US supreme court. PLEASE STOP USING LYRICA AND CHANGE THE DOCTOR WHO RECOMMENDED IT TO YOU! (if you refuse to believe me do some research on Pfizer eg "Pfizer Pays $2.3 Billion to Settle Marketing Case""

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Here is my one-year review. I mentioned in an earlier review that I was having success after a month. I rarely feel anxious since starting pregabalin. On the bad days, it doesn't stop it completely, but reduces it to a bearable minimum. It really is a wonder drug and far more effective than SSRIs. I don't plan on ever coming off it. I take 150mg twice a day. Fair play to everyone with an anxiety disorder; it is such a crippling and soul-destroying illness. This medication can do wonders! Only side effect is slight weight gain."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Fibromyalgia "Lyrica gave me back enough life to work part-time again. Tried many other medicines to treat my fibromyalgia symptoms, and few had much positive effect. However, I found that Tramadol works for the muscle pain, and Lyrica allows me the strength and energy to move once the pain is managed. Trazodone helps with the quality sleep issue."

Lyrica has changed my life for the better - no more worries, loads more confidence, and no feelings of anxiety. Would say it has improved my life 100%."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Neuropathic Pain "I have both nerve pain and other joint and limb pain. But even with my injuries I exercise every day, eat healthy, don’t drink or smoke. Twice I have been prescribed this drug for pain relief. Always being told its a good drug, how can this be correct, when the side effects make you dizzy, (what can’t stand , can’t walk so no exercise. Increases appetite so you then put on weight, because you can’t prepare healthy food due to nausea. so again you don’t exercise, and prevents proper nutrition . Beginning to think this is a way of further putting the blame on the patient. You won’t be suffering from the initial conditions , but will have secondary medical harm that the medical profession can then blame on the patient. Instead of treating the initial problem."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy "I have neuropathic pain ( burning, pins and needles, numbness ) in the pads of my feet, non diabetic. My internist prescribed Lyrica. Tried it for about a month - no help. Went to a Neurologist who prescribed Tegretol 400 mg. Extended Release. Within a week my pain went from a 10 to a 2. Been taking one a day for over ten years with no side effects. Originally this med was developed for seizures but patients with neuropathy as well as seizures told their Docs that it helped with the neuropathy and thus it is now used for this condition. Highly recommend it. Initially you may feel some sluggishness but within a very short time that goes away."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I've only been on pregabalin for two days and it's been miraculous, 100 mg 3 times a day and my anxiety has just vanished. It seems to take effect within 45 minutes and lasts for about six hours per dose. My anxiety was out of control despite 20 mg of escitalopram and 2400 mg of gabapentin per day. The anxiety was so bad my only choice was to drink to excess, which was so bad for me. As soon as I switched from gabapentin to pregabalin my anxiety was eliminated and I had no need or desire to drink. More people need to know about this!"

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I'm 20 years old and was addicted to cannabis (2-3g daily) for roughly 5 years, unknowingly medicating GAD, which eventually resulted in more anxiety leading to cross-addiction into alcohol, lots of mephedrone, cocaine, and more. Yet again, this resulted in even more anxiety and treatment centers. After countless lapses, I sought help from my local GP. They prescribed me 600mg of Pregabalin daily, and I can honestly say this drug is better than any illegal or legal drug available in treating anxiety in any form. This drug is not side-effect free, but compared to the others out there, including anti-depressants, it's definitely the best option. After the initial euphoria wanes, it stabilizes; however, so don't give up after the first effects go."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "My anxiety had crippled me to a state where my life could no longer function. The first few days on Lyrica, I noted a sense of euphoria and confusion, but by the 4th day, I found myself able to think about trigger points for my anxiety and was almost in awe of how it didn't raise its head. It seemed like anxiety had left my body, to the point where I had to look in a mirror and say 'why did you care about all that so much?' Almost in disbelief of my previous behavior, not being able to connect with those feelings or attitudes became freeing. Lyrica gave me my life back, it seems. Importantly, I'm still me. Friends and family all commented on how much better I am without losing personality, which I believe is one of the best qualities of the drug."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Fibromyalgia "I was practically bedridden when I finally got diagnosed with fibromyalgia. After prescribing all the usual medications, with no relief, Lyrica was added and gradually increased to my current level of 400mg daily. I was able to break the bed-to-sofa-to-bed routine and start moderate exercise. While I am nowhere near my former physical self, the level of relief is remarkable. I had some problems getting Lyrica because it was so expensive, and I really suffered while I didn't have it. Currently, I am getting my prescription through the VA, but we are moving and a new VA doctor may not be willing to jump through all the hoops necessary for me. I know my current doctor had to fight for me."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "This drug can be a lifesaver. It certainly was for me. I had a major psychological episode generated by physical trauma and stress. Long story short, from that day onwards, I suffered from generalized anxiety disorder. Approximately three or four times per month it would get so bad that I would have a day when I couldn’t stop crying and thought the world was about to end. This lasted for three years. The doctor then put me on pregabalin. 50 mg to start with, then 100mg. That stopped me from crying. I mean, completely stopped it. And the brain fog. And the anxiety. After one year, I thought - I’m fine now, so I will stop taking it. Big mistake, huge. Back all the problems came, with reinforcements this time! Not surprisingly I restarted the pregabalin and two weeks later, all back to (good) normal. I need 200 mg per day now is the only downside. I have my life back. I plan to take it for the rest of my life and enjoy every day that I am allotted… what a lifesaver."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Neuralgia "I got severe trigeminal neuralgia 40yrs ago. After 10yrs on Tegratol I had MVD operation. It was quite an experience on its own. From the moment I opened my eyes the pain was gone - until 2 months ago (nearly 30yrs later). It's not as severe as previous, but it was back, and moved from the lower jaw to the top one. I went onto Lyrica stating at 25mg twice a day, slowly increasing to 75mg doses. It took about 3 weeks to work, but now I am pain free. The side effects haven't been too bad to date. It is a winner. I missed a dose once and got slight tingling reminders. Don't miss a dose."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Fibromyalgia "I have been on this for more than 15 years. I have only very slowly increased the dose over this time and I have found it to be very effective at reducing the, all the time, low to medium level pain. It doesn't always cover the high end, less frequent, pain but I can cope with that. No pain killer is going to stop all pain. I can work and function. Without it I am unable to to do the things I love."

For Pain "Given this pregabalin after several other meds failed to rid me if my agonising pain of 4 bulging disc (sat on root nerves in my lower back, can’t lay can’t sleep can’t cope !). For me pregabalin is a miracle cure for now I must admit (I’ve read the bad reviews but not the case for me ) never through I’d rid this agony whilst waiting for back op, if I gain weight or anything similar I’ll take it to be pain free (first time in a year )"

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Neuropathic Pain "I decided to give Lyrica a second chance after surgery for cord compression at C4-C6 didn’t relieve pain and actually aggravated things. New herniation above and below level of injury and surgery. Continued cervical myelopathy diagnosis. I’ve been tested and should have known better as I metabolize medicine differently. Lyrica hasn’t helped with pain at all, I am in a stupor most of the day and I am so hungry, I’ve gained 15lbs that I couldn’t afford. I wake up every night with severe pins and needles, pain, rigidity, and the worst migraines & head pains. Moodiness and depression has cloaked me. I’m weaning off today. I though surgery would eliminate the need for medications but pain has increased . A scary side effect is my legs go completely numb and I feel my legs have been less reliable, since stating the medication. I have an extruded disc and nerve root compression in L5-S1, the medication has me feeling weaker, inebriated, confused and sad."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Have been taking 100 mg at night for nerve pain (sciatica), after discussion with new doc started taking 50mg twice daily instead. Instant relief from anxiety, for the past two months. I tend to wake up in pain in middle of night as the 50 mg dose wears off- so now am taking 50 mg three times a day. Amazing relief from long term anxiety and depression and pain. I'm actually stunned. It's also quite helpful for the pain. I feel a bit "high" but I assume that will wear off a bit after my body adjusts. I feel like I have a quality of life I haven't had in a long while. Thrilled."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I’ve suffered from anxiety for most of my life. I’ve tried everything. Went on drinking binges. Benzos helped panic but when they wore off, my anxiety only worsened. I’ve tried almost every single antidepressant on the market. Stayed with them hoping the side effects would wear off. They increased my anxiety 10xs over. Effexor—the worst, Paxil and Cymbalta... Zoloft and Celexa were not terrible. Buspirone—nothing. Vistaril—dry mouth, fair effect. Xanax and muscle relaxers knocked me out. Trazodone did nothing—a severe dry mouth. Amitriptyline helped sleep, nothing else. I take tramadol for fibromyalgia and a back surgery—helps anxiety. Finally prescribed Lyrica. I was skeptical, scared, and reluctant. Worried about “staying the course” through side effects. The very first dose was like a light switch. I felt alive and “normal”. No side effects whatsoever. Helped pain, anxiety, and fibromyalgia. This drug absolutely saved my life. I truly would be dead without it."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "The pregabalin REALLY helped me. Then the results slowed down. The doc then raised my dose by 20%. All good for another 2 years. Results slowed doc raised dose 15%. All good for 5 more years. Now doc raised Lyrica 10% higher again and he also added 250MG Depakote (125 mg twice day) and I feel great! If pregabalin works you just need to stay ahead of "tolerance" and that is not hard at all. The higher the doses get the slower tolerance takes to come back each time. Eventually you become very "HYPER-STABLE". I feel very sorry for all the people stuck on the same tiny agonizing dose thus making them slip in and out of 4 or 5 tolerance waves per day also called inter-dose withdrawal. My doc told me to be brave and take more when needed. Yes I am dependent and life is GOOD. I am going to Jamaica for 3 weeks and have rented a 45 foot sail boat. Will do lots of scuba diving and fishing with my wife and 2 kids. LIFE IS GOOD when you listen to your doctor!"
