For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I have been crippled with anxiety and panic attacks for 14 years, and I’m only 28. I ended up being pretty housebound as I couldn’t take the train or car without feeling absolute terror. I have tried fluoxetine, citalopram, propranolol, and diazepam, and none of them worked much. I went and saw a private doctor about my anxiety. I started on a low dose of 50mg twice a day. All I felt was tired, and I got a few headaches. Then I upped it to 100mg twice a day, and I’ve been on that for about a month now, and I can honestly say I feel so much better. Initially, I thought it might be the placebo effect, but I put myself in situations where I would often usually get extreme anxiety, and I didn’t get a panic attack. I still felt nervous because it doesn’t take away everything, but the adrenaline and fight or flight didn’t happen; it was just in the background. I was worried about all the negative comments on this forum but thought I would try it anyway, and I’m so pleased I did."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I think this is the first review I’ve ever left on anything! I’ve suffered with Anxiety for years and I’ve been on numerous medications which have never worked so I gave up. I then recently went through a very rocky time in my life which flared up my anxiety - I couldn’t eat, couldn’t sleep and I was struggling with general day to day tasks until I discovered pregabalin. I am honestly amazed by the effect it’s had on me. Within a few hours of taking 100mg my Anxiety had pretty much gone and my appetite was back more than ever. Personally, I stopped taking this daily and I now take as and when I feel necessary which my GP is ok with. Never have I known something so effecting for Anxiety - game changer."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I have suffered from PTSD (diagnosed in 2001) as a common condition unfortunately experienced by many people in law enforcement. I was prescribed Prozac which made no difference and in about 2007 I was changed to Citalopram. I have suffered from undiagnosed GAD and this year started also suffering paralysing panic attacks. My GP changed my medication to Sertraline and prescribed Valium to take as needed, but I’m not sure it helped. I was also prescribed Zopiclone to take at night. This did work but the withdrawal was horrible - even after 2 weeks. My panic attacks were so intense and awful that I sought the help of a private Psychiatrist. He was fantastic and diagnosed previous PTSD, GAD and panic disorder. He changed my SSRI to Escitalopram and Pregabalin. It makes me feel woozy but the anxiety and panic has completely gone! The reviews of Pregabalin here are incredible for GAD. It’s very early days but I’m feeling 1000% better. Phew….! Definitely try this medication."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I'm 63 and have struggled with depression and anxiety, starting at age 30. In late March 2015, a significant life event occurred that sent me spiraling downhill. Extreme anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts. The worst episode ever. Dr. prescribed 150mg Lyrica. I began taking it on June 11. By noon on June 13, I felt incredibly good, invincible, euphoric. Weird in that I just felt SO GOOD, almost too good. Then side effects hit. Bad dizziness, but still felt good mentally. Cut the dose to 100mg. Over the next 2 weeks, side effects resolved themselves. No weight gain. The artificial high dissipated. What I'm left with is this...NORMAL LIFE. Lyrica gave me my life back. Pray it works for others as well as it's worked for me."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Neuropathic Pain "With one word, this drug is great. I had lumbar disc fusion operation 2 times before. Today (21/11/2019) is my 8th day with morning 75 mg night 150 mg Lyrica. The side effects I experience are very simple. My doc told me that this drug will make you feel perfect in 10 days. I could not believe because I didn't give a chance to be fine without another operation. In my first dose, I immediately started to relax. Today I can stand still on my feet for 10 minutes without this drug; it was only 20-30 seconds. I am very glad to use Lyrica. If you have neuropathic pain, just give a chance to this drug."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "This drug literally saved my life. I was in remission since 2017 on escitalopram but then moved to another country, started a new job, and experienced family issues in December 2021. My GAD came back as strong as ever before, I had extreme anxiety all day long, unable to experience happiness. My psychiatrist started me on clonazepam which helped to relieve my insomnia and shaking. After some time I tried to taper clonazepam with strong rebounds of anxiety. My doctor changed escitalopram to venlafaxine with no effect. After 6 months of this torture, I started to lose hope and began thinking about other ways how to end my suffering. After that, my psychiatrist started me on pregabalin. Then, a miracle happened. After just 10 days on pregabalin, I started to feel more relaxed, my anxiety was slowly vanishing and I could sleep longer. The dosage was elevated to 250 mg daily and after 2 months I experienced a full-lasting recovery."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Fibromyalgia "Lyrica is the worst medication I've ever taken. I took it about 10 years ago or more. I swelled up and gained 90 pounds. I went to doctor after doctor. Even put me in the hospital for 4 days. Lost 32 pounds. All they wanted to do is put me on diuretics. But that just caused rebound swelling so it didn't stop the problem. Nobody would tell me why I was so swollen. I couldn't even wear shoes. My ankles were even oozing. Finally, one day I was sitting in a chair watching TV (all I could do) and saw a commercial about Lyrica and for side effects it said 'slight swelling of feet and hands'. I had already asked doctors if it could be any of my meds. Of course, it was always no. I quit taking it and the swelling gradually went away. The Lyrica had caused really bad edema. But it took me another year to get the 90 pounds off of me. Overall, it stole 3 years of my life. Talked to many that went through the same thing."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "This has changed my life quite literally, from the anxious, shy, and introverted person that I usually am, with difficulty showing or sharing my emotions. I have become the person I know I am or was before I realized I had GAD. Yes, you do get high side effects, but do not misuse this drug. Take it for what you need and maybe you will have the same outcome as I am experiencing. It can be quite addictive, so again be careful and do not mix it with alcohol as it can increase the effects by at least x10 in my experience: dizziness, nausea, and unstableness. I hope this helps. As I said, I am a really bad sufferer of GAD, and this has really helped me become myself again."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Generalized Anxiety Disorder "My doctor prescribed me Lyrica for my social anxiety after having tried numerous other more conventional meds over the last 15 years, i.e., Paxil, Zoloft, Effexor, Xanax, etc. The list goes on and on, and finally (for me) this really, really works quite well. It stabilizes my feelings of anxiety as well as relieves stress-related pain. I feel like a different person, able to take on life rather than hide and let it pass by. Thanks."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Fibromyalgia "This is my first ever review on this site, but felt it was necessary. I have Crohn's disease, fibromyalgia, and rheumatoid arthritis, and I am only 21 years old. I have been on Lyrica for about 2 months, best 2 months of my life. I have tried every medicine you could think of, minus painkillers. I am no longer constantly fatigued, anxiety and paranoia. Pain levels drastically dropped; for the first time in my life, I actually have thoughts racing through my brain. Not one single panic attack, the list goes on. I know a lot of people want to hear this, I have LOST weight like crazy, and have the same sex drive. Try this before ANY antidepressant. Talking is sometimes harder for me, small price to pay though. I couldn't be happier with my life."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Neuropathic Pain "On Lyrica, you will have trouble finding words, memory problems, energy boosts, anger. Who knows in the long term what happens, but I guess I will lose all my memory. But it is a very good and effective drug but has a crazy fast tolerance, so you constantly need to adjust it in order to get the kick. If I forgot to write something else, it's probably because of Lyrica."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Been using Lyrica for less than a month together with Lexapro (aka Cipralex in Europe). Since Lexapro did not have a good sedative effect, this medication did its job - cooled down all emotions and I could more easily manage my life. Let’s not forget only this - this is not an AD, that in chemical way restores neurotransmissions in your brain, this is more symptomatic cure and once you need to stop it - it all could come back. Therefore, while on this drug, be sure you use your time wisely - go to therapy and learn new ways of your daily life, as this is your goal, not drugs. They just help to cool down, but the rest - just in your hands"

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Not sure if it's too early to be sharing my experience with Lyrica, but there are some important things you should know. I started about a week ago with 75mgX2, one in the morning and one in the evening. I also take 150mg of Effexor and 15mg of Remeron, both in the evening. The Pregabalin was stronger than I expected (I'm a big man, 120kg) and I experienced some dizziness. When I drank 3 beers (3x 0.5 Ltrs) one evening, I had some heavy suicidal thoughts the next morning. I stopped taking Lyrica after 3 days because of the suicidal thoughts. On the fifth day, due to my intense anxiety, I decided to take just 75mg in the mornings and cut out all alcohol. This seems to have worked as I have far less anxiety and I am more social, but it's too early to say. The other side effect I experience is overeating. I suggest you begin with the lowest dose of this drug as you never know what to expect. Merry Christmas and a HAPPY 2020."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Fibromyalgia "I started this drug ten years ago and gave rave reviews then so would like to again. I was able to manage my FM through diet, exercise, and adequate sleep through most of my 20s. One day I pushed myself too hard at work, and I got to what I call 'final stage'. Half an hour after getting a shot of Dilaudid in the ER, I was still crying and writhing. The doctor came in and sat down looking worried. 'There's probably nothing more you can do for me.' I said, 'No, there's not.' She sent me home with maximum doses of every painkiller on the planet; nothing got rid of the deep burning aching pain. It hurt to stand, sit, walk, lie down. I lay in bed for days not knowing what to do. I tried Lyrica. That pain has been gone ever since. I got my life back."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Fibromyalgia "I have been on Lyrica for 2 1/2 weeks now. I take 1 x 75mg capsule morning & night. I suffer from back, buttock, leg & feet pain from a 360-degree double spinal fusion of L4-L5 & L5 & S1 done 20 years ago. Nerve pain is now ruining my life. However, since being on this medicine, my pain is now around a 2-3 out of 10 from being anywhere between 5-9. The only real side effect I am having is feeling 'high' 24 hrs a day. Supposedly, this will go away in time. I also feel uplifted and it has helped with my depression. I do feel a bit aggressive at times too. I have been keeping a close check on my weight too but nothing has changed. My normal weight is 75 kgs and I'm fit & strong as I workout in the gym regularly which helps control back pain."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I'm a 45-year-old mum of two and I have been suffering from obsessive thoughts and GAD for over 20 years. 14 years ago I was put on 20mg of Paroxetine by my psychiatrist and I improved a couple of months later after taking it. My life has been good with up-and-down situations. 3 months ago when my anxiety came back when I contracted bad flu and I started to feel anxious with dark obsessive thoughts every morning to the point that I couldn't cope with anything in my life. My GP prescribed me 40mg of Propranolol, but it only slowed my heart rate, and I still wasn't good enough to function. After talking to my psychiatrist, he prescribed me Pregabalin 50mg twice a day and OMG I started to feel brand new almost immediately! What a life-changing medication! I felt dizzy and my vision was blurred at the beginning, but as days went by, the symptoms started to wear off. No anxiety, no dark, obsessive thoughts! Life is good again! Recommend to everyone with anxiety and depression."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Been on this med for a few days now after 10 years of sheer awfulness after a tragic event in our family... anxiety? Only way to cope was to spend all day in bed, then get up, drink a bottle of wine, have some valium, then go to bed - that was my life. I had tried all antidepressants to no avail, then came across this miracle drug on a website! I thought I'd try that... doctor agreed to let me try it. 75 mg twice a day... UNBELIEVABLE anxiety? What anxiety? It has gone... and good riddance... early days I know but fingers crossed. I feel hopeful for the future thank God. As someone else mentioned on this website - it should be first choice for anxiety medication. It took me years to come across this. I am 67 but have eventually found the gold!!!"

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Hey lovely people. So, I've been dealing with GAD & panic attacks for years, took SSRI, one SSRI worked for depression, but increased anxiety. Took benzos, for few weeks, as an emergency. But the addiction is real, guys! I know people who got addicted. With pregabalin, I understand that people apparently CAN get addicted. I can describe the feeling as somewhat similar to alcohol, just without the euphoria. Your nervous system gets dialled down. So, be aware, there is SOME potential. And talk to your doc, if you feel addicted! But FOR ME: it worked wonders. The effect in the blood is immediate (2h). But the effect in my brain took 8 days to REALLY kick in. And I do feel much better & a calmness that I haven't felt in years. I feel an acceptance of the bad stuff in life that I just COULDN'T accept before. I know those reviews always sound "fake" or "made up" but I just want people to know this stuff works. Alright, good luck everyone & be safe & talk to your doc if you feel addicted."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I'm about 3 weeks into this pregabalin drug at a relatively low dose, and I cannot believe the effect it is having on me. My social anxiety seems to be gone, vamoose, eradicated! Just for reference, I'm a pretty cynical person who didn't hold much hope for Lyrica, as I've had bad experiences with Cipralex and Effexor. However the transformation in my confidence and sense of calm is staggering. Long may it continue!"

For Pain "I have been having major back pain for over 6 years. I have been on numerous narcotics (hydrocodone, tramadol, codeine). Then my doctor gave me a script for pregabalin (Lyrica). It sat in my cupboard as I was scared to take it due to the many horrible reviews. Then one day I decided to try it. Wow! 3 days on it and I take anywhere from 100mg to 150mg daily. The first 2 days I was tired, almost zombie-like and could not keep my eyes open. But now I feel great, no pain, and no need for strong painkillers (which is huge as I have been taking codeine for 5 years). My mood has improved as well. Dare I say I feel happy again? I know it has only been a few days, but so far, pregabalin has changed my life for the better."

I take 200 mg/day, occasionally I’ll have to bump it up a little, but overall 200 mg keeps me anxiety free.
