MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol 3350) "After lower back surgery I was prescribed Oxycodone for pain and Diazepam ( Valium) for muscle spasms. The only problem is constipation, something that I had never experienced before. The instructions say that it may take up to 72 hours and this is how long it took to work for me. I was sceptical if it was going to work at all but it did. NO pain or any problems. I went easy the only thing the smell is hard to describe. Haha!!!. I took it twice a day on the advise of the nurse after the single dose didn't bring me any results the first day. Always ask your doctor for stuff like that even though it is an OTC remedy . Hope you feel better."

MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol 3350) "Took this after surgery to prevent complications with stitches in the abdominal cavity. After 3 days of using correctly I can’t sleep and have waterfalls of diarrhea that won’t go away after 2 days off. Sure it evacuated the system well and crushes destroys everything in its path"

MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol 3350) "To the person suffering with rectal fissures: That is a shame that no regular doctor prescribed you with Miralax. I was prescribed that at 19 years old. I have tried Senna products and they make me feel horrible, so Miralax is the best and the most gentle. I hope it continues to help you."

MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol 3350) "I have severe bloating and stomach cramps. I had an unusual incidence of severe constipation, and after it resolved my doctor prescribed Miralax. After six days I still haven't been to the bathroom except partially with an enema, and have severe cramps. My whole gut is swollen and churns around like I have diarrhea, except it won't come out. I suspect it has harmed my normal gut bacteria. I will not take it again."

MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol 3350) "Just had a hysterectomy last Wednesday, I have been having "very little" if at all bowel motions. I woke up this morning in excruciating abdominal pain. I took 2 doses in orange juice and I produced my first bowel motion in 1 hour! Wow! More fiber, water, ambulation and Miralax should keep me regular."

MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol 3350) "Ok maybe I am not giving it a chance, but I was and am having constipation issues. My doctor told me to use Miralax for 10 days everyday. It has only been 4 days. It worked on day one and now nothing, it just softens it and cannot expel it. I guess I will just have to keep trying for the next 6 days. Appointment on the 16th."

MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol 3350) "I was on it for 9 months and had bladder burning for 3 months after that. I need a colonoscopy but don't know what to use as I have kidney disease. I've also had precancerous polyps. I need to do a colonoscopy but don't want to lose my kidneys. I do not recommend polyethylene glycol (Miralax)."

MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol 3350) "My grand daughter is four she was born with a birth defect and has chronic constipation we tried prune juice when she was a baby it only worked for a little bit . Then she got sent to a G.I doctor and he said try miralax and give her a whole packet. She has been on it since she was about a year and a half and it works great for her . She will have to be on it for a while. She had to learn how to recognize her systems and when to go to the bathroom and with this medicine she is doing awesome .. I hope that she won't have to be on it for life . Thank you miralax"

MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol 3350) "I love the idea of a gentler laxative but unfortunately I can’t take this because it gives me the smelliest gas I’ve ever experienced. It happens every time I’ve tried it. It’s not worth it. Prune juice or classic laxatives for me."

MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol 3350) "The product works great, however the new packaging is not user friendly. Please bring back the old bottle design and remove that plastic insert in the bottle opening that suposedly helps to pour the product, indeed it does not, its makes a huge mess while pouring. New does not always mean better"

MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol 3350) "I have always suffered with constipation. I cannot 'go' in a public place nor can I go with people around. This has been debilitating for me. I do find that enemas work well when we get company that stays with us. The problem is that once they leave it is hard to go without an enema. Usually 3 cap fulls of Miralax and lots of water and a day later I start to go. Then I'm usually regular without taking any more. The gas after day three is really bad and exceptionally terrible smelling."

MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol 3350) "Ok, so I had a doctor's appointment for yearly check-up. Decided to get honest and tell the nurse practitioner about my experiences in the bathroom. I had years of rectal bleeding, painful BMs, and likely a fissure. Lots of apprehension, I figured that I might even need an operation on the hemorrhoids. So she said I am going to prescribe you MiraLAX and take a cap daily. So in 2 days, my BM came and it was not painful and soft but formed. I cut down to half a cap a day and now it has been 4-5 months and I never have pain or bleeding or nonsense in the bathroom since. I do not care if I am addicted to it. The stuff is an important quality of life medication for me."

MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol 3350) "Works well for constipation due to Venlafaxine ER. I take Miralax every night at bedtime in hot tea, after typical day of drinking 2L water, eating an extremely high-fiber diet (veg except for fish, exclusively whole grains, cook with extra-virgin olive oil), and some walking, along with lots of tea both green and black. The Miralax helps, but still only 1 movement per day, versus 3 prior to medication. When I double the Miralax, THEN things start to approach pre-medication regularity."

MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol 3350) "Miralax used to work fine. Now ever since the doctor recommended it to me (again after a few months ago from using it), it doesn't work. I could wait 3-4 days and nothing happens. To make sure there isn't any confusion, I am not dependent on Miralax at all, but use it only once in a blue moon basically."

MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol 3350) "I suffer from chronic constipation. I took the adult recommended dose mixed with sweet tea. After two hours my stomach began gurgling. I barely made it to the bathroom. It has been like water after the first two loose movements. It has also made me extremely nauseated and I've vomited twice. I feel so sick right now it's unreal."

MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol 3350) "Started taking Miralax about a week ago. I didn't have it with me this last weekend, and I still went to the bathroom. I must say since I have been taking it, I have had a little cramping, this pretty much is the red flag saying time to use the restroom. I must be really constipated if this cramping if happening. But I'm going to keep taking it and see how I feel in a few weeks. So far I'm going to the restroom it's slowly moving out. Yeah! Miralax"

MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol 3350) "Due to medical problems I take a lot of different medications + iron on top of them that cause me to become constantly constipated. Miralax works very efficiently on me for the constipation. It takes about a half hour after consuming to produce results. It’s really nice knowing I’ll get quick relief consistently. Rarely does it cause diarrhea for me."

MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol 3350) "I have had anal fissures for decades. A bowel movement can keep me in pain all day. I started on miralax with different amounts and now take one full capful every morning. It took a few days to kick in but I have zero pain on bowel movements. I do get some nausea once in awhile but it is not bad. My stools on miralax are really soft and thin and I often go 8 times a day give or take but I don't have this urge to go. I just do. I do have a lot of flatulence but two months in and I am enjoying life without excruciating pain."

ClearLax (polyethylene glycol 3350) "I take bicycodil and 1 cap of clear lax (in water or Sprite/7up) before bedtime - it works brilliantly for me. Highly recommend that you at least try Clearlax; you don't have to use the dulcolax/major tablets with it but that's what works for ME .. so everyone's body is different. I have not experienced any upset tummy as I did with dulcolax; but with the major and clear lax, I feel perfectly fine and good to get on with my day after noon .."

MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol 3350) "Miralax was a lifesaver for me. I was nearly hospitalized because constipation had caused aspiration pneumonitis and greatly worsened my GERD and asthma. I was losing weight, though I was already underweight, because I couldn't eat many meals, and I was also having chronic moderate/severe abdominal pain. The miralax worked amazingly for me, although it took some time (a week, 2 capfuls 2x daily, though now I do 2 once a day). My brother experienced problems with it though. He started with 1 capful and was vomiting all night. However, he went to ½ capful and slowly titrated up to 2, and now PRN Overall: Highly effective, but variable side effect profile. Insurance only covered bc I was taking such large doses, otherwise they will not."

MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol 3350) "I’ve had multiple doctors prescribe this for my IBS-C over the past decade. I don’t know why they keep insisting it will work because it never has. It doesn’t matter the dosage, I just get super nauseous every time and get stomach pain with no constipation relief and am ultimately told to stop using it. I know multiple other IBS patients who have had the same experience. I don’t know anyone with severe constipation who has actually had any luck with Miralax."

MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol 3350) "Immediately after taking Miralax I had a breakout of rash (clusters of small red bumps) on my knees and elbows. It lasted for two weeks. I read other sites and many have complained about rash breakouts all over their bodies. I'd rather take down plain old physlium husks."

MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol 3350) "My doctor recommended it to me about 9 months ago when I found out I was pregnant. Which I'm glad he did. At first I was reluctant to try it but I ended up with severe constipation when I was about 4 months along and they had to dig poop out of me at the hospital - not pleasurable. Anyway I started taking it twice a day as directed by my doctor. It took about 3 days to actually fully work once it did I was so happy. I will definitely use again if needed"
