Roxicodone (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "Very effective. I have 3 bulging discs in my neck, 2 herniated discs in my lower back, and torn ligaments in both knees, had surgery on right, the left is next but still very painful, from a major car accident, left me disabled. I take 60 mg OxyContin 2x daily and 30 mg oxycodone 4x daily. And it has been a life saver, thanks to my compassionate Dr. who understands my chronic pain, I can actually live my life. And take care of all my adopted animals that need me."

OxyContin (oxycodone) for Pain "With degenerative bone disease, my lumbar spine shows up 'black' in x-rays, and nobody will do another surgery on me. So I've been on everything under the sun since 1999, but they all made me too loopy. Then the wonder drug OxyContin was prescribed to me, and my life was given back. I could clean my house, play with my children, basically get off the couch, and out of my wheelchair. I can walk now, barely use my cane anymore. I am so sick of the bad press, the drug tests, etc."

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "I beg the makers Xtampza ER to consider reconstructing this drug so that it can be taken normally (with or without food). It is difficult to eat a high fat meal when one is in pain. Because of Xtampza dependance on high fat food, it is quite inconsistent in the pain relief it delivers. I have done the same foods, in the same amount, at the same times and have experienced quite different results. Many of us are putting on excessive weight and also many are experiencing HBP issues while only getting pain relief about half of the time! I do like Xtampza when it works. It is fantastic when it delivers but a good 50% of the time, it does not deliver. I wish I could say I have found a full proof way to manage this med and ensure its consistency in relieving my pain. I have not. Please listen to your customers. I feel, as many do, extremely disappointed. Thank you for your time and consideration. I hope somebody at Collegium Pharmaceutical, Inc will listen."

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "I changed pain docs & he immediately changed me from 15mg MS ER to Xtampza 27mg every 12 hours. I also take Percocet 10/325 tid. The MS wasn't working and neither is the Xtampza. I have severe chronic pain due to a near fatal wreck 3.5 years ago; degloving of my leg, had to have arterial/muscle/skin transplants, back broken at 5 levels, all told I had 35 broken bone and internal injuries, I hurt....bad. IF the Xtampza works at all, it takes 3-4 hours to kick in & only lasts about 2-3 hours if that. I've also gained weight, have mood swings which I've never had before & horrific vivid dreams. Not impressed at all!"

OxyContin (oxycodone) for Pain "I am 58 years old. In my teens and early 20s, I played sports and have had numerous spine injuries. So far, I have had 5 spine surgeries, radiation for cancer. I have lived with constant pain that is unbelievable. My quality of life was poor, to say the least, although I have been very active in hunting and fishing despite the pain. This drug is a lifesaver. Any and every drug can be misused. The government has the doctor community afraid of their own shadows on this drug, but properly used for folks like me, it has no equal. My quality of life without this drug would be zero. Side effects are there but manageable. If you are living with severe pain, seek out a doctor that will prescribe this drug for you and monitor you for the side effects."

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "This has to be taken with a fatty, high calorie meal for it to work correctly and anyone in pain knows that eating is the last thing you want to do. I’m force feeding myself, gained 13 pounds in two weeks. Xtampza making me have uncontrollable diarrhea and gas that I haven’t left home since I started it for fear I would poop myself in public. I get no warning, it just comes out as if I’ve lost control of my bowels. I’ve noticed a few UNDIGESTED pill capsule shells as well. The nightmares !Last night I was being chased by my mothers ex husband with a shot gun . I don’t know what happened but I do know that’s not normal. Overall this is a horrible medication! It doesn’t work, makes you rapidly gain weight, hurts your tummy, makes you poop your pants, can’t digest the shells and gives you nightmares....yeah I’m good...just give me back the meds that work already!"

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Pain "I trialed Xtampza ER for 5 days due to a forced step therapy trial. I went into the trial with a positive attitude because I wanted it to work and I can tolerate Oxycodone. (If it worked, my insurance company would stop hassling me because this med is cheaper than my current med.) However, by day two I could not walk or move because I experienced a rare side effect which I think was due to a filler. My muscle groups locked up consecutively one by one starting w/my lower back and spreading across my body. My pain was also completely uncontrolled, so the dosage was not comparable to my previous morphine milligram equivalency. (My trusted pharmacist researched Xtampza and thought it would be equivalent, so I share this as a possible criticism of the drug itself and not a commentary on my tolerance.) I have complex regional pain syndrome, meaning I am an intractable pain patient, and have been prescribed pain medication for about eight years to manage my pain."

For Chronic Pain "I'm a veteran and I've been prescribed the same 15mg green oxycodone for almost 9 years since my accident in the marines. Recently was given a different kind of 15 mg oxycodone that I have never seen before, U23 by aurolife As a chronic pain patient I have to use every single pill in my prescription exactly as its prescribed. And this u23 pill is terrible, I've had several different manufacturers over the years, some better than others in treating pain but they always worked. I told my doctor the pharmacist and the veteran service pharmacist office how bad this med is. “sorry but procurements of manufacturer’s not my job” I did research and aurolife sells cheaper, less effective meds. Chronic pain patients have to ration their medication to the protocol, inferior pills ruin quality of life Aurolife makes terrible products/several lawsuits and has issues with the FDA yet the VA pharmacy purchaser only uses them now, putting millions of veterans in pain at risk and added stress."

OxyContin (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "This "awful drug" as reported by the media and the internet, has become the evil of prescription pain medication. But what you don't read or hear about is the thousands of people who's lives are made bearable by the use of this medication. I have had multiple major surgeries following a lifting injury 18 years ago which left me with severe chronic pain caused from nerve damage during surgery. I have successfully taken 30 mg of oxycontin 3 x day for 15 years without ever needing to increase the dosage. The misconception is that pain medication will take away the pain...which is wrong. Pain medication should only be used to take the EDGE off the pain, not eliminate it. Oxycontin can be successfully used to take away enough of the pain over an 8-12 hour period for the patient to be able to at least function. Taking higher doses in order to eliminate the pain is where patients get in trouble, and can have fatal consequences."

OxyContin (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "OxyContin seems to work really well for pain. But there are a few cons about this medicine for me. My body would get used to it, and I would need to up the dose. I went from 10mg (2x a day) all the way up to 30 mg (2x a day). It has always only lasted tops 7 hours instead of the advertised 12. It has never lasted 12 hours. When I started taking this medicine, by the 7th hour my legs would really be on fire again like clockwork. So 2 pills would last 14 hours instead of 24 like the manufacturer says. If you take this medicine, make sure you get some breakthrough medicine. Make sure you take Exlax with this medicine. You will be constipated."

"I’ve been on oxycodone for 25 years for Hypermobile type Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS). I have seen it go downhill in quality ever since they discontinued Activis Oxycodone. I’ve resorted to KVK tech as an alternative, but it doesn’t work as well as the Activis did. Activis was acquired by another company and ever since has eliminated the production of oxycodone IR. Rhodes, Malenrodkt, Purdue Pharma, and all the rest of the companies that produce oxycodone have limited the number of active ingredients and you can tell when you take it that it’s not working like it used to. McKesson one of the distributors of pharmaceuticals is out of KVK tech, which is what I usually take. So my pharmacist filled a partial prescription with KVK tech and the rest with Rhodes. Rhodes doesn’t work at all. After being on this medication for over 2 1/2 decades, I know when something works and when it doesn’t. I will be calling my congressman and my mayor to see what I can do as suggested by another reviewer."

For Chronic Pain "I have been using Oxycodone for over 12 years for chronic pain and have found it effective without the need to increase the dosage. I have utilized several generic brands over the years, noting the effectiveness of some over others. Recently however, I found they simply do not work. I’ve been telling my wife I feel as though they were sugar pills. Their effectiveness seemed to drop 80% compared to my previous prescriptions, trying both KVK and Epic brands. I actually wanted to hire a chemist to analyze the contents to see if they still contained any Oxycodone at all! I came across these comments on Drugs.com and now find, I’M NOT THE ONLY ONE."

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "I had failed back syndrome and then surgery to fuse my spine from neck to tailbone. Huge surgery that was supposed to help my quality of life. I have more pain after surgery and my mobility is severely limited for life. Before surgery I was on Oxycontin & oxycodone & I could at least have a life. Then I was switched to Xtampza - this is not working. Politics see me as a drug seeker so I must take the most tamper-proof drug out there whether it relieves pain or not. Xtampza does not. I have gained 15 pounds since starting this med and my quality of life is pitiful. Prescribers are most concerned about MMEs (morphine mg equivalents) and not at all about our ADLs (activities of daily living). It looks like I am taking a huge amount of opioids while I can only absorb a fraction of the med because I cannot force myself to eat enough to get any relief. The last thing that back pain sufferers need is obesity."

For Chronic Pain "After being diagnosed with ovarian cancer and undergoing medications and chemotherapy, I developed severe neuropathic pain that affects my muscles throughout my body. Unfortunately, I have been forced into a world of relying on pain medication to address my pain. However, I have noticed a distressing change in the quality of the medication. It feels diluted and ineffective, designed to merely pacify people rather than provide genuine relief. It's a disheartening realization to be part of this system and I desperately want to break free from it. However, I still endure the pain and have no choice but to live with it. It's unjustifiable that medication isn't provided honestly and ethically to individuals seeking pain management through proper channels. We are not individuals roaming the streets in search of drugs and needles, engaging in reckless behavior. We are honest people who are living in constant pain but still need to function, take care of our children, and maintain our families. This is not the way honest people in pain should be treated."

Roxicodone (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "Taking this medication as prescribed gives back quality of life with in days of first use. The least you take ,the more effective in pain reduction. For anybody using any opiate for recreational use has no idea what the complications ahead in time. Not only losing everyday enjoyment. BUT revolve around becoming physically dependent (dope sick) on medication day in day out . Trust me you don't need the extra stress, NO body that takes this medication prescribed by a doctor, wants to suffer not only from chronic pain but then physically/mental stress that comes with opiate use. I do not work in the medical field , this is all from personal experience. Hope this information helps out in anyway !"

For Chronic Pain "Oxycodone immediate release tablets. 100% the formulation has been changed & they are completely ineffective. They no longer work at all. KVK Tech brand ofoxycodone is selling literal "Sugar pills" tagged as Oxycodone. Aside from leaving you with a physically sick ill groggy feeling they do nothing for the pain. Guaranteed the public was NOT told about the formulation change. I have been on these meds for many years due to very debilitating painful disease. I am now homebound & bedridden from uncontrolled pain and the fact whatever they are putting in these pills now is making me physically ill along with something else that makes you so extremely tired you cant function. This fake "Opioid Crisis" is the greatest medical disaster of our time and decades from now our children's children's children will be reading about how millions have been left to suffer without effective pain medications & the Government changing the formulation unbeknownst to the public made those who need it physically ill."

For Chronic Pain "I have been taken oxycodone for 5 years. I usually receive the small green 15 mg pills which always worked well. I changed my doctor to the VA. I was given 15 mg oxycodone made by Rhodes. I really think this company's pills should be tested they do nothing for pain whatsoever or if there is any pain reliever at all in these pills. I have a drug test coming up in a couple days should be very interesting to see if there is any opiate in these pills."

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "I was born with curvature of the spine, then my job as nurses aide for about 20 years kind of finished my back off. I've been using pain meds, with varying degrees of success, for about 40 years. About a year ago the pain clinic decided to put me on Xtampza 9. They know I cannot sleep after taking pain meds as they give me energy so I take both in the morning. I get no pain relief but what surprised me was also no energy, I can sleep even after taking 2 but cannot sleep after 1/2 hydrocodone 5/325. I can take 3 days off of the Xtampza and feel no difference. 1/2 a hydrocodone 5/325 gives me better pain relief, something is not right here. Please, please fix this."

OxyContin (oxycodone) for Pain "I am so very pleased to read all of these reviews. I have been on OxyContin for just over a year. After one cervical and two lumbar fusions, my ortho doctor refused to prescribe anything stronger than Percocet. He referred me to the pain clinic, and I am so very lucky to have a knowledgeable doctor. Oprah had a show on prescription drug addicts today (my family all have issues with this medication). I would like to see someone brave enough to stand up for all of us in chronic pain that HAVE to take this medication to simply function. I take 60mg 2x a day and have felt guilty, that is until I happened upon these postings. Now I feel like I can ask my doctor to up my dose one more time so that I can get the full benefit of the medicine."

OxyContin (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "Was taking 10mg oxycodone 6 times a day for an operation that went horribly wrong. I was always dizzy, nauseous, and tired. Started OxyContin 20mg twice a day and changed my life. Less Percs, feel almost normal. Now if the pharmacists wouldn't treat us like dirt, life would be good. Highly recommend."

For Pain "I just had surgery Friday for an ectopic pregnancy, I was prescribed 2 of these oxycodone pills before I left the hospital and denied anything for pain besides tylenol at home. I went back to the hospital after 12 hour because I tried it their way with just tylenol and the pain became unbearable, I waited 2 hours in the ER with horrible pain from surgery. Finally I was prescribed some morphine and then when they released me I was prescribed 13 of these oxycodone pills. 1 every 6 hrs for 2 days and then 1 every 12 hrs until I run out. They work mostly on taking the edge off but do not help me move or anything like a percocet did with my first surgery. I hate this opioid crisis because we have to suffer because of all the drug addicts. I was denied pain pills after a major surgery in nc. Because of all of the addicts. I am highly upset because my pain will not just go away after 13 of these pills and I am not allowed a refill or anything."

Tried all other types of meds but none made my life worth living again like the oxycodone. Although I'm prescribed 5 a day, I find some days don't need all 5. Wish people would not abuse meds because it has made it hard for the ones who do!"

For Chronic Pain "I am legally disabled!!! I've been going to the same Pharmacy for years and always get the activist 30 milligram oxycodone. And then about 3 weeks ago they gave me the white Rhodes brand. No pain relief at all, got me nauseous and felt like I was going to throw up, and a constant headaches. Thank goodness I only got a seven-day Supply. So now I'm going to another Pharmacy. The pharmacist is ordering me the 30 mg Mallinckrodt brand. To me the Mallinckrodt brand are the best ones. But my insurance isn't covering them. And I'm paying $105 a week 35 pills. I don't know what else to do because I can't afford this for much longer!!! The rating bar I'm putting a 10 because I'm talking about the Mallinckrodt brand"

For Chronic Pain "I've been on Oxycodone for several years for chronic back pain. The ones I recently got from CVS in Niles, OH made by Rhodes Pharma is not what it says it is. I'm in severe pain and having withdrawal symptoms for more than a week of using it vs other brands. I am miserable! AVOID this manufacturer. If you Google Rhodes Pharma you'll see there are others with the same complaint. I'm contacting the FDA, CVS, and Rhodes to file a complaint. Insurance pricing on this cheap drug is 95.00 -195.00 but I use Good RX Gold and pay 28.00 for 150 tablets"
