"This drug worked at first after taking Risperdone it helped my energy thinking alertness. Then after a year my weigh doubled. I couldn't stop eating all day all night my health is deteriorated I have compulsions never helped that. Now I'm huge no memory and lethargic I'm changing this medication on to a different one, so far no luck in helping me live a comparable lifestyle but without weight gain."

"Diagnosed with schizophrenia, for 20 plus years I have been taking and still taking Zyprexa. I gladly take it because compared to other drugs for schizophrenia it has less serious side effects. Consider that third generation drugs are still in the experimental stage."

"Was on this for 19 years at a medium to high dose. It really helped, and I was able to live a calm life. I never had a girlfriend in all this time. It took me up to 10 seconds to answer questions sometimes. It helped with sleep. I had to come off it because I relapsed with paranoia. I was also drinking alcohol with this drug quite happily until it all got too much eventually. Tried aripiprazole next, which gave me insomnia and made me feel too zombie-like, then lurasidone for 4 years, which gave me mania, and now on quetiapine."

"Zyprexa (Olanzapine) causes weight gain even if you control your eating due to its ability to slow down metabolism. It's crucial to have periodic tests for cholesterol and blood sugar levels, as it can also elevate liver enzymes (ALT) at times. Unfortunately, the weight gain can be quite significant. In addition, Olanzapine can cause blurred vision, making reading or browsing the web difficult. It may also induce sleepiness during the day and cause you to sleep for about 11 hours each night. Even setting an alarm and trying to wake up early for a week may not help. At higher doses, it may exacerbate feelings of depression. Moreover, constipation is a common side effect of Olanzapine. Therefore, it's essential to consume a fiber supplement like psyllium seed husks and drink plenty of water to counteract this effect."
