Serzone (nefazodone) "I was having many panic attacks and could barely manage my life. I started Serzone with the few side effects of dry mouth, sleepiness at first, and constipation. Only the dry mouth remains. I have now been on it ten years through many major stress issues. It has kept me functional through all these, and I have avoided breakdowns that could have occurred. (On measures of stress tests, I usually rank in the "Go to the Hospital" area). No liver problems, and it is tested yearly. I have had to slightly up the dosage two years ago. I did have a horrible time in trying to quickly change to another drug when it appeared that serzone was going out of production. I am grateful for it, and wish it was more widely used"

"I have suffered from panic attacks since age 19. Was put on numerous meds throughout the years, nothing worked. In my 30s, met a doctor who helped in someway with development of Serzone and he put me on 150 mg twice a day with half mg of clonopin. Within a few weeks, I started to feel "normal" again. I started driving again, got out of my house, was very active. Been on this for 23 years. For past 4 months my dose has gone down to 75 mg a day. My current doctor has tried, 4 other different meds on me, nothing is working. I've had bad reactions to all of them. I'm down to 30 more days of the Nefazodone. It's already been a struggle on the 75mg. I've stopped driving, don't go anywhere again. I call and write Teva all the time. They keep saying they are not discontinuing it, but still out of raw material. I joined 2 groups on Facebook for Nefazodone support. It helps to get updated info there and speak to others. I'm praying Teva gets their raw materials soon"

"Serzone worked great for me. I took it for 5 years and was up to 600mg a day. Only side effect was blurry distance vision. I wish so bad they would make something comparable to this medication. I have been off it for 6 years now and need it again. I never had any liver issues. All of the others make me sick with more anxiety."

"I was home bound for SIX years due to severe anxiety and panic attacks that debilitated me to the point where I couldn’t leave my home. After hopeless days and nights trying to find help, a neighborhood doctor had a nurse and psychologist come into my home to properly diagnose me. I was then placed on Nefazodone that miraculously helped my condition and allowed me to finally leave my home and live a semi normal life again. Then last year, the NIGHTMARE for many of us unraveled…. TEVA loses its way of getting a “ Raw Ingredient” and many like myself are back to where we started with nothing but false promises and LIES from TEVA and the FDA. I personally have began the process to start a Class Action Lawsuit against this company. Being a part of many support groups where others are also highly affected from this shortage, we will stand as ONE until we get a resolution."

"I just found out yesterday that Nefazodone is back! I’ve been on it for over 25 years but like the rest of you, without it since 2020! I couldn’t be happier after the MISERABLE last 17 months without it. I’m ready to say goodbye to my panic attacks once again! I was on 700mg previously. My doctor is starting me back at 200mg, 100 am & pm, gradual increasing as needed. Can anyone else share their experiences reintroducing the medication now that it is back? I couldn’t be any happier!"

"In the early 2000s, I was diagnosed with depression, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, and panic attacks. My psychiatrist prescribed Serzone for me. It was a miracle. After taking my first pill, it took effect in half an hour, and I couldn't believe how much better I felt right away. Every 6 months, I had blood draws to make sure it wasn't affecting my liver. All continued to be well, and there were NO side effects. Nefazodone eventually replaced Serzone, and I continued to take it off and on (as needed) through the years. I'm currently taking it - 50 mg twice a day - and it's still 100% wonderful. I had tried Prozac and Effexor, and they were awful. I felt like a zombie with them. Not with this drug. I'm grateful to my doctors for giving me this gift."

"I was prescribed this medication approx 20 years ago after being homebound for 6 years with agoraphobia. 17 years ago when I was became pregnant, they attempted to change my medication and it was all bad. I had horrible effects from it. I was placed back on my Nefazodone and I as back to normal in no time. I just learned today after wondering why my script still wasn’t filled that it is no longer available. Teva you have to put this medication back on the market. My anxiety is at 1000 just knowing what I’m going to go through without it. I’ve get labs done every 6 months and have never had any liver issues at all. Please help us patients that have been saved by your medication."
