Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Pneumonia "I had shortness of breath and chest pains right side, doctor sent for X-rays. Called next day and told me I had pneumonia of left lung. It's been 5 days now and I slept throughout the night yesterday for 1st time in a week, chest pains still there but less intense. After 10 days on medicine I am going back for X-rays. So far so good."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Bronchitis "I was prescribed 5 days of Avelox for bronchitis/sinusitis. Seems to have cleared up all the green mucuous, but the cough lingered for another week. Another possible side effect is tremendous pain/swelling in my Achilles tendon. Don't know if this was caused by Avelox, but have been doing some research and that is a possibility. I will be going back to the doctor tomorrow for follow up, as I can barely walk."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Sinusitis "The medicine worked great to counter my sinusitis and I was breathing better after just one dose. But the side effects are almost unbearable. Nausea, dizziness, headache, lightheaded, dry mouth and constipation. The dizziness and lightheadedness kicks in after about an hour of taking the pill and lasts for about 5 hours. Very difficult to function normally and trying to work while taking this medicine. "

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Sinusitis "I have used Avelox twice before, and took it at night as my doctor said there might be dizziness or sleepiness. Then I didn't need it for several years until this week. On my third dose, my sinus infection already feels like it has gone, but I can't fall asleep and my thoughts are racing - I would say agitated. I'm not sure if I can take this for seven more days. "

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Sinusitis "Had a double ear and sinus infection that didn't clear up with a round of antibiotics, went back to the walk in and was prescribed Avelox. Scariest side effects EVER. After about 30 minutes I felt a cold wave hit me in my stomach , I felt dizzy , lost feeling in most of the left side of my body, developed rashes and purple splotches all over my upper chest area, had trouble breathing , became hypertensive and ended up with slurred speech and was in and out of consciousness until medical help arrived. Very scary. And that was just the first pill..."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Sinusitis "I took a second pill and had a severe reaction to it in less than 25 minutes. It started with nausea, hives, extremely dizzy and lightheaded, slurred speech, shortness of breath, rapid heart beat and rise in blood pressure and heart rate, severe anxiety and weakness. "

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Sinusitis "I was put on Avelox for a horrible sinus infection, and chest congestion. My doctor never mentioned any of the possible side effects. Within an hour of taking the first dose, I became very tired, weak, and I had heart palpitations and I had overwhelming anxiety. I am now on day 5, and the side effects have only progressed. The joint pain, and muscle cramping , heart fluttering, fatigue, muscle weakness, nausea, blurred vision, loss of appetite, and tremors are enough to scare anyone. It has helped my congestion and sinus infection, but there are other antibiotics that are just a good and so much safer. "

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Sinusitis "I had a severe allergic reaction within 1 1/2 hours of taking my first dose. Pounding heartbeat, redness and fainted for the first time in 57 years of life. I was rushed to the hospital and given steroids and Benadryl to counteract the effects. My blood pressure dropped from a normal 135/80 to 90/45. "

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Sinusitis "After second dose of Avelox, I broke out in hives. This is unfortunate, because I felt a world of difference (better) within 6 hours of taking the initial dose. Now that I've got hives, I am back to another antibiotic and I don't know if it will work as well."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Sinusitis "After 6 months of severe congestion, sinusitis, and bronchitis that triggered wheezing with my asthma, unsuccessfully treated with other antibiotics, my doctor prescribed Avelox. I can breathe and not wheezing and on my way to less congestion! I have not had side effects that preclude my stopping this medicine. Powerful and effective."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Sinusitis "I have chronic sinus infections that are not unbearable...mostly annoying. I was prescribed to Avelox recently and am halfway done with my dose. I have had some seriously horrible reactions to this drug. Granted, it is obviously helping with my sinus infection but the dizziness, nausea, light headedness, dehydration, and overall sick feeling is worse than the sinus infection itself. I am glad that I will no longer have an infection in my body but isn't there another way? This is awful!"

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Bacterial Infection "Took my first dose of Avelox while I was at work (I am a nurse). About 15-20 minutes later I began to itch on my neck, then my face and mouth began to swell and itch. Luckily I was at a place where I could get epinephrine on board right away to prevent an anaphylaxis reaction!"

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Bronchitis "Found this to be a very intense medicine. I am 64 and have a history of chronic bronchitis due to non repaired scoliosis and am quite susceptible to respiratory issues. On day 1 and 2 my chest and the ability to breathe was tight and restricted on day 3 much improvement but followed with severe abdominal cramping and nausea with dry mouth. I have lost 6 pounds and feel quite weak and dread the next dose. I am on it for 10 days."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Sinusitis "After years of sinus infections my germs sneer at the usual antibiotics. Augmentin and Ceftin do nothing, in fact I got more sick everyday on Ceftin. Avelox has been the magic bullet for me and I really don't have any side effects. This doesn't mean someone out there won't be allergic to it, but I am not. Relief begins within hours of the first dose."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Sinusitis "I was put on Avelox after Augmentum didn't work over a period of time and my symptoms were worsening. I had relief within twenty four hours. I have found that Biaxin XL works well too if it is prescribed immediately instead of wasting time with Augmentin or Ceftin. Avelox is a big gun though, and should really only be used if other antibiotics fail."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Bronchitis "Switched from Cednifir to Avelox on day 4 of treatment. Seemed to be a more potent medicine and reduced symptoms quickly. Only side effect was a sped up metabolic euphoria feeling borderlining as being a low anxiety attack. But was able to perform my job which requires constant and close contact with the public."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Sinusitis "This is only the second day I have been on it, and already notice a tremendous improvement. I took my first dose yesterday afternoon, and when I woke up this morning I could tell my ears felt much better, as did the never-ending sinus headache. No bad side effects for me so far, and they would have to be very bad for me to quit taking this! Finally, RELIEF!"

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I went into the hospital surgery. I was on three medicines the day of surgery and infection happened. I was given Avelox. By IV for 6 weeks. 2011 - I had the same so again 6 weeks calling it an extended amount of Avelox.. so I had 24 weeks in all by IV..I have tendons damage so severe that Mayo can do nothing to help me. My toes curl under and my feet have muscle wasting, fat pad syndrome, the bones now have cysts and I haven't been able to walk on my feet at all. I went through all of the neuropathy crying of pain, then I couldn't find my feet because I lost sense of where they were, the motor function burned out to where walking became impossible. Everything else has been ruled out even by Mayo, 1 other major hospital and one is working it out now just to see if they can give me any relief of pain.. it's just going up higher...the atrophy is muscle gone forever ."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Sinusitis "I suffer from sinus/ear infections at least 2-3 times a year. My doctor first prescribed Augmentin but this only made my symptoms worse. After feeling miserable for 2 weeks my doctor then prescribed Avelox. Besides the jitteryness, rapid heartrate, and anxiousness, it worked wonders. This medicine cures symptoms quickly, but does have side effects. Everyone is different so be aware of your body and let your doctor know if you're uncomfortable."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Bronchitis "So far I'm on day two and my coughing has almost stopped. I've had a cough for 3 weeks, but it got worse almost overnight with a fever of 102 and chills three days ago. My doctor said I had a sinus infection, upper respiratory infection, and bronchitis. I can already tell this antibiotic really works, with only a little dizziness for a side effect."

For Bacterial Infection "I was sadly infected with an infection by my partner. It has been a nightmare failing both azithromycin & doxy. I am now on 10 days of moxifloxacin. By day 2 i already got a HUGE reduction in symptoms, But at a cost: I am experiencing aching in my joints and muscles, random twinges of pain in my ears and it has exacerbated my pre existing tinnitus. My tinnitus hasn't bothered me this much in years. Understand if you take this, there is a good chance of developing tinnitus, or worsening it if you already have it. I can only hope it quiets down after I finish treatment."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Sinusitis "It must be my body but this medicine works within 30 minutes to an hour after ingestion. This is fast acting per the information I researched. I only had a sinus infection in my left nostril and it cleared up where I was able to breath through my nose without an issue. I used to carry around tissue for this purpose. No side effects for me."
