Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Pneumonia "I've been on a 7 day schedule of the Avelox, it has worked pretty well to clear up the bacterial infection on my lung. However, I have experienced pretty bad diarrhea that started about 3 days into the schedule. The rest of the symptoms have been mild such as nausea, feeling cloudy, etc. I am really looking forward to taking the last pill, this medicines side effects are not too pleasant."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Pneumonia "I have chronic inflammation of my lungs and get bronchitis easily. I recently had the worst episode .... I took 17 days of Avelox. I am finally feeling human again. I don't like the side effects too much, but mitigate them by taking potassium (orange in the a.m. and banana in p.m., sometimes a 99 mg supplement). I also eat yogurt with extra acidophillus in the evening and take calcium/magnesium/Vitamin D before bedtime to prevent cramping. That along with potassium prevents cramping. "

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Pneumonia "I have the most horrible experience with ALL antibiotics....they make me feel worse than whatever I have! Was prescribed Avelox for my pneumonia and within 24-hours all symptoms had abated and lung function had returned to normal. Best of all I experienced zero side effects! Have since has pneumonia a second time and was prescribed Avelox and had it was like "Groundhog Day". Powerful antibiotic but works extremely well!"

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Bacterial Infection "I get horrible side effects from literally every other antibiotic out there, except for Avelox. Of course all medications affect people differently, but I have never felt any of the effects people list here, except for a little fatigue. This medication works very well."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Bacterial Infection "I did get a bit dizzy so I would take this at bedtime and did at first get a faster heart beat but may have been cause I read all the crazy side effects online. This medicine did work for me. Had an awful case of tonsillitis. Be sure to read the package and how other meds (even vitamins) you may be taking can alter the effects and increase chances of side effects."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Pneumonia "I am on my sixth day of Avelex 400mg for pneumonia. I have noticed a big change in my breathing and I do feel better. Still counting down to the last 4. Mostly because after I take it, I start feeling depressed, ill, tired, and still can not eat or drink much. So I dehydrated to the point that I could not understand what people were saying. Nothing made any sense. That is better now, but still get confused, dizzy, lightheaded when I walk depressed and so on."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Sinusitis "I took one pill and had a severe allergic reaction to it in less than a half hour. It started with stomach pain, blood in the stool, rash, swelling and shortness of breath. I had a seizure, my husband called the ambulance and ended up in the hospital. Scary experience and I want to let everyone know how horrible this drug is."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Pneumonia "Felt it start to open my lungs after the first dose. Oh but how dizzy and nauseated I felt. Side effects wear down towards the end of the day (about 10pm...I take the pill at about 9am). Powerful medicine, QUICK results, pretty strong side effects."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Bronchitis "I took this medicine while at work ( Police/Fire Dept) because of bronchitis, I started out with a red rash that went up my arms, then started to itch, terrible stomach pains , passed out and was placed in an ambulance. Once awake and being prepped with IV I watched my body walk out of my body out the ambulance door, my body was literally shutting down and I was dying on the way to the hospital, The drs. at the hospital told me that if I would have been by myself I would have surely died. . This was a horrible experience and since then my body has shut down to all medications and if I am prescribed any kind of medications I have to sit in the drs. office waiting for another reaction. I had surgery 2015 and had a team standby."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Bacterial Infection "First of all I'm so sadden by so many horrified stories on this blog. My heart goes out to you all. I am on day 9 with Avelox. My doctor prescribed other medicines for this bacterial infection and bad cough that I have for three months now. The first 2 days were horrible for me on Avelox. I was throwing up all night, heart beating fast, severe itching. By day 3 I felt great and my side effects now are not as bad, minor itching now. But I must say this medicine does work for me. It also has cleared up my skin on my face and I had blisters on my hand big one's that also has cleared up. So I'm going to do a refill on this and continue this medicine for another 10 days. Good Luck to all that had bad experience with this medicine."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Bacterial Infection "Taken to address a long standing Prostate infection. On 4th day of a 20 day course (400 mg once daily). Side effects include: slight to moderate confusion and vertigo. Slight to moderate tinnitus, loss of appetite, pasty mouth, thirsty, mild tendonitis in left knee. I'm not my positive, engaging self and it's affecting my teaching (High School Chemistry). I drive a motorcycle so the vertigo and confusion symptoms are worrisome. I can deal with the above side effects provided they do not worsen. Prostatitis seems better but too early for any conclusions in that regard. I'm continuing with the treatment."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Sinusitis "I have chronic sinusitis and have taken many different antibiotics including cefazolin, erythromycin, azithromycin, augmentin, and ampicillin. I have never felt the nearly immediate relief with any of these that I felt when I took Avelox."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Sinusitis "I suffer from COPD. When I get a respiratory infection of any kind it is a big problem. When I take Avelox the symptoms are gone before they get out of hand, 2 or 3 doses and I feel great again. Personally, I have not experienced any side effects. Have used the drug 3 times now."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Sinusitis "I'm allergic to penicillin and Zithromax, so my doctor prescribed Avelox after I'd had a sinus infection for 3 weeks. (I try to avoid taking antibiotics since I'm allergic to the normal prescriptions.) I started to feel better after the first dose. My only complaint is that the pills were a lot more expensive than simple amoxicillin."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Sinusitis "I suffer from sinusitis probably 3-4 times a year and everytime I go to my regular doctor he would prescribe, amoxicillin. I found this drug to take up to 2-3 days to begin its effect, but also had to deal with 3 tablets a day for 10 days. Recently I contracted it, and amoxicillin failed to rid me of my sickness so my doctor gave me avelox. This is my third day on it and almost all the symptoms have disappeared. Probably the only problem I've experienced with this is mild-moderate nausea when first ingesting the pill. This lasted anywhere from 5-10 minutes. Other than that, even on the first day I could feel myself feeling better. Definitely will choose this route next time."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Bacterial Infection "The next day after taking it, I began to have twitching in my hands and fingers, dizzy, could not walk a straight line and was extremely tired, sleeping 20 hours (I usually sleep 6 hours). After being taken off, after 3 days, most of my strength has returned, still a bit lightheaded. Apparently these effects affect 2% who take the medicine. "

For Pneumonia "I was suffering symptoms from sinusitis (few months already) and uncontrollable coughing, couldn't breathe. Doc put me on amoxicillin, it didn't even touch my symptoms. Doc took x-ray, turns out I have pneumonia. She prescribed 400 mg/10 day course. I could definitely feel the medicine working it's way into my body. Crazy feeling! Anyway, I slept for about three days straight, I was exhausted from feeling so crappy. Just noticing on day 5, my sinuses are clearer, my ear is clear, and the coughing is more productive. The only side effects I have really noticed are tightening in my calf muscles, almost restless legs, and a bit of constipation. Oh, I also had a loss of appetite, but I was ok with it. Not sure if I'll be all better by end of treatment, but so far, so good. Pleased with the results."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Sinusitis "If you take SSRI's (antidepressants) for anxiety and/or depression, watch it while on this medicine. In addition to the dizziness, lightheadedness, and stomach problems, it might reduce the overall effectiveness of your SSRI."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Sinusitis "Numb hands for an hour, severe headache, blurry vision, rash on my arms. And this was with my first dosage. Doctor didn't even ask to see what previous antibiotics worked for me in the past. He just gave me Avelox and prednisone and said "on your way"."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Bacterial Infection "I have taken moxifloxacin for 2 days so far - and NO SIDE EFFECTS! In fact, I FINALLY feel normal and healthy again. I wanted to die of flu symptoms before I took Avelox. I took Amoxicillin for 8 days (prior to Avelox), which did NOTHING! I went to my doctor, desperate, and he prescribed me 5 days of Avelox. I have taken 2, no side effects, and FINALLY FINALLY feel well again. I was sick for OVER 2 weeks, flu, SEVERE body aches, SEVERE sore throat/majorly swollen glands on right side of neck, SEVERE earache right side, fever, headache - MISERABLE! AVELOX FIXED ME. THANK you Doctor. THANK you AVELOX! Just educate yourself on precautions! There are many things you need to do (take in morning, don't take with certain medicines)."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Pneumonia "Although the drug's effects reduces symptoms rapidly (I felt better after the first day on it), I had extreme possible side-effects (especially vomiting, long after the illness had passed) which seemed disproportionate to the benefits of taking the drug. This includes vomiting days after being on the drug."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Bronchitis "I am 32 yrs old, and have no allergies to anything. After taking this drug I had depression, hallucinations and very odd thoughts, and felt no consequences to anything I did...so I looked up the side effects, and I had almost everyone. I went to another doctor and she advised me that this drug has profound mental side effects in adults."

Avelox (moxifloxacin) for Sinusitis "I know everybody's body is different and reacts differently to medications but after the second dose I was tingly all over, headache, severe anxiety, muscle aches, weakness, tired, dry mouth, impulsiveness. Just be careful!"
