Kadian (morphine) for Pain "Kadian has saved my life. I have degenerative disc disease, and was unable to do much of anything painless, I barely got off of the couch. Now I am up cleaning my house, playing with my baby and participating in life. My pain scale was a 8 on most days and with Kadian and other medication for breakthrough pain I am at a 1.5 just about everyday."

Avinza (morphine) for Chronic Pain "BRING BACK AVINZA! I've had a C1-C2 Chronic Pain for 36 years now. The closest I have come to how things were before some illegal drunk in an 18-wheeler truck was allowed to kill two friends, change another friend's life, & ruin my life, has been AVINZA. It's been a year & my life again turned upside down, as I have yet to find another Morphine that compares to AVINZA. Of course I am refused to try MS- Contin, or Oxy-contin, even though I've taken Narcotics responsibly now for almost 25 years. Just bring back AVINZA, as I know there has to be other people like me, though I fear from experience- that we who suffer from Chronic Pain, are looked at as irrelevant, and why AVINZA was taken away from us!"

Oramorph SR (morphine) for Chronic Pain "I have a 2 column l2 fracture of the spine and I have a spinal brace on. The pain is really severe and the doctor gave me oramorph 20mg every 2 hours and apart from being light headed and a little bit spaced out I am free of pain for the first time in 3 weeks. Off for MRI as the fracture has collapsed more"

Avinza (morphine) for Pain "I've been taking Avinza for a few years and it has changed my life. I have chronic back pain and have had 1 unsuccessful surgery. I will not go through that again just to be disappointed. I started with a dose of 120 mg and have been able to reduce that to only 30 mg over the past 18 months. I added in a regular visit to a chiropractor and had acupuncture. All together these things have made my quality of life so much better. Soon I hope to be off of it totally."

Kadian (morphine) for Pain "I've been taking Kadian 60mg 2x day for severe back, knee, hip and hand pain. I have a failed knee replacement from 10 years ago and have been taking Kadian ever since. Controlled pain mostly but also taking Norco 10/325 two pills 3x day for breakthrough. Just yesterday my pain doctor increased the Kadian to 80mg in the morning and 60mg at night. I can't imagine what my life would be like without the pain relief I get from Kadian. I tried Fentanyl patch with no relief (then I heard of the deaths caused by the patch), and tried Oxycontin and again no relief, so Kadian is for me. Only issue is it is extremely expensive."

MS Contin (morphine) for Chronic Pain "I began taking mscontin 30mg twice daily about 11 years ago due to a chronic pain condition caused by , in a large part , by lack of treatment due to no insurance. About 2 years into being on this medication it was increased to 60 mg twice daily and , 2 years ago , 100 m twice daily. This medication has always kept my level of pain at a point where I could function in a manner where my quality of life increased , although I am unable to work because my left arm is basically useless. It's main drawback for me is that like with all opioids tolerance does occur and dosing increases are sometimes necessary. I also take , for BT pain , tylenol #4 , 1 or 2 tabs every 4-6 hrs when required I would personally recommend this medication to anyone with chronic pain issues."

Morphine Sulfate ER (morphine) for Chronic Pain "I was on 40mg of Methadone four times a day for 5 years and it worked fairly well to control my pain. I have have back surgery at L5/S1 and have disc degenerative disease. Due to a change in insurance I have had to change to a different med. Now I am on 90mg of Morphine Sulphate ER. This does not seem to be helping close to what the Methadone was. I need help to find a medication that will help. Both my pain specialist and I thought this would do the trick but even with steroid injections I am still in massive pain."

MS Contin (morphine) for Pain "I am a chronic pain patient and have tried Vicodin 5/500, Norco 7.5/325, Norco 10/325, Percocet, Percodan, Darvocet, andfFinally I have found relief with 120 mg of MS CONTIN a day and Percodan for breakthrough pain (up to 4 tablets a day as needed). I am now able to work a full time job, get up before noon and resume a normal life. I am so thankful my doctor decided to try the Ms Contin. The only issue is constipation, but it is controlled with Miralax."

MS Contin (morphine) for Chronic Pain "Just started this medicine for my spine arthritis and knee arthritis It takes away the pain pretty well. I am only on 15MG. Only problem I have is it make me feel light headed and jittery at times. But, as far as getting rid of the pain, it is doing the job so far."

Morphine Sulfate ER (morphine) for Chronic Pain "Kind of useless on the pain I'm in, was on it for 7 months, 4x a day 2x30mg ER and 2x30mg IR and I was still in pain and coming off it was a process. I never once took it other than prescribed and there is no doubt in my mind I was physically addicted to it. I weaned myself off for months to the point I was taking 1/4 a pill right when I laid down just so it did not feel like my skin was crawling as I tried to sleep. This is an addictive and useless pill for sciatica issues in my experience."

For Chronic Pain "Morphine medicine saved my life, gave me somewhat of a life that I do NOT have when NOT using Morphine. I've had a Severe Chronic Pain for 37 years, due to C1-C2 fusion not exactly in place right, & severe multiple head injuries. The only side effect I have had from it, is a slowed digestive system, but I have never had to use anything for the slowed digestive tract. It just angers me so when morphine medicine is so often talked bad about, as it saved my life, & it is one of the best medicines for how well it works when used correctly- & just like how all medicines should be used correctly. Nothing else has ever eased my pain at all like morphine medicine. I used two different doses for past 26 years, as first dose had never been enough."

MS Contin (morphine) for Pain "1st day of MS Contin 30mg twice a day. I have been taking 6 Percocet a day and still in substaintial pain. So far with this new drug I am still in pain, but very manageable. I am heading for lower back procedures and possible surgery, hope to be off or at least reduce pain medicines over the next few month, but for now I will take manageable pain."

For Pain "I also use Morphine SR 100mg/8hrs and would not be a functioning member of society without it. Degenerative Disc Disease, Stenosis, Narrowing of Spinal Foraminae, Bone Spurs, and Facet Syndrome would have me all but crippled. I can use this medication and function and support myself or not use it and draw off the government. I will choose the first option thank you."

Kadian (morphine) for Pain "I've been on Kadian for 8 months (car accident 3 years ago, suffering from extensive postural and disc and recently diagnosed PTVS symptoms since). I'm 22 and started feeling able to live my life again after taking Kadian (10mg 2 x day) and it seemed to make my mood better. It no longer works at current dose and doctor won't move up a dose, and doesn't believe in short-acting medicines. First 6 months it really did wonders and gave me a lot of my life back. Constipation is brutal with this medicine - I take Miralax daily with some relief. Withdrawals are horrific."

For Pain "I had a discectomy in 2015. I was prescribed 90 Morphine Sulfate ER 12 hour tablets (red) at discharge. I only took half the bottle during recovery for pain and saved the rest until today, when I ran out of a 5 day supply of OxyContin prescribed for upper jaw surgery on 8/27/19. They are still effective as ever. I don't have an addictive nature so I know I'll be fine taking them. My jaw pain was at a 8, on fire. Asked my surgeon for another 5 days worth of Oxy but she declined. I realize there is an opioid epidemic so I understand why. I think in a few days I can cease taking them as swelling will go down. I am thankful I had saved them. I'm here because I wanted to see reviews but a lot reviews are only complaints. Morphine is for dying cancer patients/unbearable emergency nerve pain. It should not be prescribed for everyday use due to it's potency. There are other meds for all other pain cases. Don't be mad at your doc for not wanting to prescribe it because it is really addictive."

For Chronic Pain "Went to ER for chest x-ray , was given an unnecessary injection of Morphine which put me in acute respiratory distress and had to be admitted to ICU and placed on respirator. Initial x-ray showed blood clot in lung. Ended up with pseudomonas pneumonia and sepsis while in ICU for 2 weeks. All allergies were listed on chart. Morphine is not supposed to be given to older people and definitely not given to people with difficulty breathing. I will never take Morphine again. I am 76."

Morphine Sulfate SR (morphine) for Pain "I have taken many different pain medicines over the last 11 years. This morphine is the smoothest, with no spikes or lows of blood levels. It has a fairly long half life, so you don't have to worry about withdrawals if you miss a dose or two."

MS Contin (morphine) for Pain "I have been on MSContin for about 6 months now and I use as my primary pain medicine. It has helped me more than any other pain medicine that the doctor has tried on me. As, I have already stated it is my primary pain medicine, taken every 12 hours. I also take oxycodone 30mg, 4 times a day for the break through pain."

Morphine Sulfate ER (morphine) for Chronic Pain "15mg 3x a day ER. I've been trying to find the right medication to treat fibromyalgia pain. I've experienced nearly every side effect, worst being respiratory problems and weight gain. My attitude has been poor and I'm completely miserable. It's increased my depression. For all the horrible side effects I've experienced, it doesn't seem worth it to stay on the medication for MINOR pain relief. The same has happened to me with Lyrica (neurontin with a prettier name) and tramadol ER. Morphine is by far the worst. I gave it 2 weeks but I can't take anymore of the nausea and illness this medication has caused. I took a morning dose today and feel ill, as usual. I can't wait to flush this garbage from my system."

MS Contin (morphine) for Pain "I have been on may different types of pain medicines for over 10 years now. I have degenerative nerve damage since a young age. Also crushed, herniated and bulging discs in my entire lower lumbar region. Have been in unmanageable pain many times before trying MS Contin. This seems to give me the best possible relief while still allowing me to function in society. The pain is now under control and I do live a normal life. I take Soma, a muscle relaxer, and that seems to help when I overdo things. I am perscribed 4 of the 60mg in the a.m. and 4 in the p.m. without side effects."

For Chronic Pain "As the Morphine was effective the more lasting effective was unexpected. I lost 12 teeth. A side affect? I don't have any other explanation. The health of my teeth was great before the 18 months of morphine. I was finally referred to a back pain specialist. I was to get off all medications to receive the injections. Cold turkey was the same as described any heroin withdrawal. But I survived. I am taking a strong anti inflammatory twice a day that seems to after 9 years keep the pain and the sciatica at bay. I still have numbness in my toes but that is nerve damage from the inflammation. I live with that. My lack of upper teeth to chew my food is uncomfortable and embarrassing, no more smiles for me. No money for replacements."
