Minocin (minocycline) "Having suffered from rheumatoid arthritis for more than 20 years, I suffered a whole-body flare 5 years ago severe enough to almost prevent me from walking. Twenty-six days after being put on Minocin by my doctor at Harvard Medical School, I was riding my bicycle 10 miles a day. Minocin is not a 'cure' for rheumatoid arthritis. Whenever I have attempted to get off this drug, the rheumatoid arthritis has come back within 2 months. But as long as I take it, you would never know I have rheumatoid arthritis. Only side effect I've experienced is a grayish-blue tint to my skin on my neck and cheeks."

"Originally diagnosed as having severe, aggressive RA, I was put on Methotrexate for a year. I hated the way it made me feel, and I freaked when she wanted to put me either biologics or Plaquenil. I found the Antibiotic Protocol Therapy for Minocycline on the Road Back Foundation, and convinced my GP to allow me to go onto it. In 10 months I was RA-related pain and deformity free and in 2 1/2 years I found a new Rheumatologist that did not believe that I really did have severe, aggressive RA - it is that good. You have to start slowly or you may suffer from a Herxheimer reaction, but I have enjoyed this time without the worst of the RA symptoms. YAY!"

"I was diagnosed with RA seven years ago. I have never taken Methotrexate or any other drug, other than Minocycline. When I started on Minocycline five years ago, my flares stopped after a month or two. While I occasionally feel stiffness, it goes away with walking, yoga, and meditation. I started with 100mg/day of minocycline, increased it gradually to 200mg, and for the last three years, I have stayed at 100mg daily. Many thanks to the Foundation for referring me to a Rheumatologist open to prescribing oral Minocycline to treat RA and experienced in using this drug to modulating the immune system response."

"I've been using minocycline for two years and it has diminished the frequency of my RA flareups. The flares were pretty intense in my hands, wrists and big toes twice a month lasting a week or so. I still get a flareup about twice yearly and my spider veins in my ankle have turned dark and the arthritis is still there but I can deal with those issues. So far it's working for me."

"RA diagnosed a year and I experienced pain in my fingers (some have hard knots), toes, shoulder, hip, & right side of abdomen. My rheumatologist started me out on Celebrex first & then methotrexate. Had to stop both. So what happened next was I stumbled upon Minocin as a relief from RA. I had what I thought to be a small whitehead on my eyelid that was hard & wouldn’t go away. I went to the dermatologist & was prescribed the Minocin 100 mg one every 12 hours. It healed. Around 2 weeks I noticed “I’m not hurting”. A few more days & still feeling good. Finally I decided that the only change I had made was taking the Minocin. No nausea and no widespread pain. I do have pain in my fingers but it is manageable. I googled it and read there has been success with tetracyclines but a relatively small amount of sufferers. I’m must be one and couldn’t be happier. Meanwhile I’m enjoying all the “todays.”"

"I was diagnosed with RA in February 2016 and psoriatic arthritis in September 2021. I tried to naturally manage my RA with diet and eliminating inflammatory foods. It worked for about 4 years but during the pandemic, I experienced a lot of personal stressors and my RA gradually dot worse to the point of not being able to sleep, get myself dressed, or do the lightest of daily tasks. I refused to take any biologics or DMARDS. They were never a consideration. I researched books on Amazon and purchased The New Arthritis Breakthrough and checked out The Road Back from my local library. Both books talked about using minocycline to treat and potentially cure RA. Many testimonials claimed that minocycline cured them. I can honestly say, the first day I tried minocycline, I got immediate relief. I have been on minocycline for 6 months and feel like I never had RA. I Praise God for such a miraculous transformation! I have taken 100mg twice a day, everyday with only initial, minor symptoms."

"I have been taking minocycline for my RA since mid - July after I met with Rheumatologist who wanted me to take Plaquenil and methotrexate, I freaked out. I was not able to lift arms up and feet inflammation. 90 % is gone now. I just have knee inflammation under the patella. I hope it all heals 100% sooner the better. I started taking 100 mg pulse M W F. Now I can take it M-Thursday. I want to walk and run again. I wish it were faster. Anyone with Minocycline RA success please post your dosage and any guidance so I can beat the rest of this RA."

"GR2020, in reply to your question regarding dosage. My Husband was diagnosed with RA in Feb 2016. His RA Factor was over 600. Seropositive. He went onto Minocycline in October 2016 after he had had Bacteraemia from Methotrexate. The IV antibiotcs he had at that time took away all his RA symptoms for about six weeks and then they came back. Because he had the Bacteraemia, the RA Dr sent him to an Infectious disease Dr who has been prescribing Minocycline for him ever since. We have mixed up the dosage according to his symptoms. He was also on Sulfasalazine for 3 yrs along with the Mino. He stopped that after he got kidney stones. So he went up to 200mg everyday after he went off the Sulfasalazine August 2019. And then back to Alternate days. Pulsing the Minocycline is recommended by the Roadback. He is just now on 100mg alt days. Also giving him Rainforest Myco formula alt days."

"Trialled Minocycline for Psoriatic Arthritis for 10 months, 100mg twice a day for 3 days a week. It did help my joint pain a little after 2 months but did not go far enough for proper symptom relief and I decided to discontinue the medicine."
