For Psoriatic Arthritis "Was on methotrexate for 5 months for Psoriatic Arthritis (PA). The drug completely cleared my skin but did not help at all with joint inflammation. Pain increased while on the drug and x-rays showed my PA still progressed while taking the methotrexate. My fatigue significantly worsened while on this drug, to the point that I was struggling to do basic day-to-day tasks. Doctor took me off methotrexate and put me on Humira and I feel much better in regards to pain and fatigue, although some small psoriasis patches are coming back."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I was put on Methotrexate over 3 years ago. The third week of injection I crashed. Confusion overall sick feeling had to take an antidote. This medication caused irritable bowel syndrome itching hives and just made me sicker. I would not recommend this medication."

Otrexup (methotrexate) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I was in remission with Arava and oral methotrexate for 7 years, but stopped taking methotrexate because I didn't think I needed it anymore and I was slightly nauseated every time I took it. It was a big mistake because my feet are a hot mess. I became totally out of remission with major shoulder/neck pain and fatigue. I recently added Otrexup, in additional taking Arava. After 2 weeks I was pain free and my energy level has returned. I am paying $179 per month for Otrexup and it's a hardship. I am planning to discuss with my doctor going back on oral methotrexate which is only $10 per month."

For Psoriasis "For all the people just starting MTX for psoriasis...patience, it takes time!!!! I have had psoriasis for 20 years worse every year for the last decade, tried ointments, UV therapy, all sorts diets in vain. Started MTX 7.5mg weekly 4 months ago, feeling heart broken the first couple months as I saw no change, but it is happening... at turtle speed I am clearing. After 3 months the itch stopped now I am VERY SLOWLY clearing ( as long as I don't take any alcohol). Dermatologist said at such low dose expect best benefit around 6 months. No side effects!"

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Methotrexate was effective in the beginning for me. After three years of taking 6 pills weekly I contracted Lemierre's Sydrome Disease and Necrotizing Fasciatis (two fatal) diseases. I survived and do not take any RA medication. I live a healthy meat free and low omega 6 and 9 diet. Also used several supplements to keep immune system healthy but nothing worked. "

For Psoriasis "Just started the 15mg dose taken as 6 X 2.5mg tablets. 1st week taking them I had explosive diarrhea after 1 hour of taking medication. I hoped it was coincidence. 1 week later I am already seeing an improvement in my psariosis. I took the dosage this week on an empty stomach and with in an hour stomach cramps and diarrhea. I am going to stick with it until my appointment with dermatologist when I will ask for injections instead. I did have very mild nausea and a slightly fuzzy head after. I will keep u all updated"

For Psoriasis "I have autoimmune disease and at the age of 65 developed sudden onset psoriasis on my body (arms, neck, chest, legs, ankles, scalp). Within one month of methotrexate treatment (.05 cc once a week) the psoriasis was noticeably disappearing. I have been taking a weekly dose for six months now and have had excellent results. I am also taking Folic Acid and have blood testing done about every 45 days. At this point I have had no adverse side affects and am grateful that I have relief from the psoriasis. In addition, the drug has given me moderate relief from hand and foot joint pain."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I've been taking methotrexate for a couple of years now. In the past every RA drug seemed to work but immediately affected my liver numbers. This doesn't affect my liver and works like a charm. Only issue I have now is my insurance pharmacy choice changed and the new methotrexate manufacturer and those pills don't work. I've been on for a couple of months and am slowly getting worse. Got new refill from new supplier today and take tomorrow. Well see how they do. I se my RA dr Monday so I can discuss with her."

For Psoriasis "I have been suffering with psoriasis for 4 years now and with each year it keeps on getting worse. The guttate psoriasis covers 80% of my body. I have tried ointments, light therapy and now methotrexate. All treatments work for a while but oddly enough the psoriasis comes back with vengeance. New spots appear. My dermatologist explained to me that it takes 3 months for methotrexate to work. It slightly cleared up my Psoriasis the first month but on the third month my psoriasis came back even worse. I'm glad to read that this medicine has done wonders for many but it just didn't work for me."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have been on 15mg then 20mg for two years. Then developed constant explosive diarrhea, dizziness, and confusion. Judged to be allergic, and told to stop the medication immediately. The symptoms continue...how long before it gets better? I am not taking anything for RA right now after a week off methotrexate."

For Psoriasis "I've suffered with scalp psoriasis from being 8 years old but always managed with coal tar shampoos. When I was 29 I noticed plaque psoriasis forming on the trunk of my body, arms and legs, chest and face! They grew larger, became intolerable and so itchy. After many visits to the GP I was eventually referred to a dermatologist. By this point I was off work severely ill, my skin was so bad I couldn't walk, I would lie in the bath to help shed the layers of skin. Upon my visit to dermatologist he took one look and said I was critical. I was 99% covered and had erythrodermic psoriasis! I spent 11 days in hospital bandaged in ointments. I've been on MTX for 4 years now and can say they have helped me a lot (99%). Blood monitors done 3 monthly. "

For Psoriatic Arthritis "I have been using 20 mg for over a year with few side effects. It didn't take away pain and stiffness 100%, so my doctor included Humira. With both meds I am virtually pain free, stiffness and inflamation gone. Before I began treatment, I couldn't tie my shoes, write a letter, or open a jar. Now all of those activities are effortless."

For Psoriasis "Sooo I'm 26 been suffering 5 years. It started in my scalp and then spread to my ears eye lids elbows knees and little patches on my torso. Last year to my horror it decided to make an appearance on my penis and stayed and got worse for the whole year. At this point I was as low as a man could be. Constantly on my mind constantly severely depressed with it and was annoyed with things that don't work. I was in lots of pain and self confidence non existent just wishing for a life with nice skin. Three weeks ago I was put on methotrexate. One week later my penis was totally and i mean totally clear and has stayed clear "

For Psoriasis "I have been on 15mg methotrexate for one year for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. My psoriasis was mild to moderate and is a little better but I was in a lot of pain from the arthritis and this medicine has helped me so much. I would say my pain went from a 9 to a 3 on a scale of 1- 10. Only side effect is stomach upset and I am considering switching to injections."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Methetrexate was given to me for my RA at 15mg once a week by tablet. It gave me mouth ulcers, nausea, great fatigue for one or two days. My knees swelled up more while I was on it. I see a lot of folks take it, the best thing that has helped me is eating mostly vegetables and avoiding dairy , grains and nightshades, but every body responds to food differently."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Methotrexate has helped with the pain, but no one told me that it could affect my blood glucose and pressure. I worked for 3 years to control my diabetes with diet and had just completely normalized my glucose levels. Methotrexate ruined that with the first dose. So should a person take it and add additional BP meds and have to go on diabetes meds?"

For Psoriasis "During the Christchurch earthquakes my mother (who's had psoriasis all her life) and myself broke out big time. We found a specialist and got put on this. It cleared up in a matter on 2 weeks for mum, for me it was 3-4 weeks. We both have had no side effects. However, now 1 yr later after moving to Auckland I can't find a doctor who will supply it to me. One week from being off it and has all come back. Just want to be a normal 20 yr old. If you got a doctor who prescribes this, don't let them go."

Otrexup (methotrexate) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I've been using Otrexup for several months now, increasing from a 10mg injection to a 20mg. I have had severe leg cramps in my thigh muscles since beginning this drug. However, I was injecting into the same leg and then leg(s) so maybe I will try the stomach. I am also on Rituxin infusions. These drugs have turned my health around; my RA is now manageable."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I've been on methotrexate for 4 months now. The Rheumatoid arthritis came out of no where. I went to my primary care physician with me feet and my thumbs he basically said I was getting older to take aleve and get comfortable shoes. Well I month later I could barely walk so primary care physician did blood work. My RA factor was 1382. It took me another month to get an appointment with a rheumatologist. The rheumatologist is going to fail me on methotrexate on the 28 if this month because my levels are not coming down as expected. I am currently on 17.5mg of methotrexate. I take them on Friday night and Saturdays I am exhausted. I constantly have pain in my hands, wrists, ankles, knees and feet. I am just afraid the next med won't work either"

For Psoriasis "I was on Methotrexate for 3-4 years after trying every option I started 17.5mg when I was 19. It cleared my psoriasis perfectly! I struggled with side effects. Weakness and exhaustion, loss of appetite which lead to severe weight loss, and nausea. I changed to the injections at 20mg, and found a huge differences in side effects. Still not a lot of energy but not going through my stomach was better for the nausea and appetite so I could get healthy. I stayed on methrexate for as long as I could before I felt it was draining me. Now I am off it for 1 year and hav bad psoriasis again i wondering if it's best to go back on. both effect you in different was, emotionally and phsically."

Tired the day and day after injection but not concerned. Stomach a bit irritated but a little drawback for the good benefits."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I was very ill on methotrexate for 10 weeks, nauseous, weak, pain in my chest. I was told I would get used to the side effects. After 10 weeks in ended up in ER vommiting blood requiring blood transfusions. Methotrexate was very dangerous for me and has destroyed my stomach. I found minocin very helpful until I pulled out infected root canal.... Instant relief. No pains now."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I've been using Methotrexate for about a year. Haven't had any bad side effects. But when I started using the Plaquenil (generic form), the side effects where awful. My hands became red and very dry, cracking to the point of bleeding. I could not stop from scratching. I had dry, almost psoriasis' like patches on my wrist and arms. Had to stop taking it. All that went away. I'm still taking the methotrexate without any issues. Just have to keep up with the blood work. Now however, the dr. wants me to start on Humira, and I'm worried about the side effects that might cause. So, please, I need some feedback on Humira. What type of issues have any of you who take it, have had? Thanks!"

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I was diagnosed with RA just under a year ago. I started with 10mg tablets with Folic Acid. Initially I suffered from a lot of nausea and bad sleep etc. I must confess though after the first diagnosis every twitch or cough made me think the worst. My Dr. upped my dosage to 12.5mg and changed me to the injection which she said should take away the nausea which worked but the pains remained. She also put me on anti inflamatory pills. Shortly after my last check-up in July, my pains have nearly completely subsided so I didn"
